I commuted 100 miles or so a day on them for quite awhile and they have been just as good as any other mt on the road if not better based on how well they perform off road. I had heard lots of horror stories about swampers and I have to say these have been opposite of everything I heard or read. I would buy another set without any hesitations other than I'm always looking to run something different the next go round.

Thank you. I'm leaning towards them. Seems like fitment is a lot easier with the narrower tire. I just wish they weren't soooo damn expensive

Last time I looked I swear they were over $400/tire but you're right. I just looked and found them for $350or so, which is inline with a lot of other MTs. Just seems high I guess. I stand corrected.

FWIW the Bighorns are about $230/tire so the TSLs seemed expensive. As it turns out the Bighorns are just cheap. Everything else is in the 300-350 range

I had tsl super swampers and iroks both in 37" on an old 85 4runner. I used to drive it 100+ miles each way to get to trails. The tires behaved pretty well on the road. Much better than you might think. They are a little loud - but I also had the top off and my little 22re was revving pretty high at freeway speed.

Damn, I never come across deals like that. I'm looking at $1750 in just the tires, plus wheels, mount and balance. I'm not sure how balancing will go with those big bastards.

I wonder how much easier 37's would be with a UCA & LCA that move the wheel forward an inch more than stock...

Its huge, its just enough to clear your firewall and body mount if its chopped! At least if its a LT +2 or +3.5 even better. Ive seen some previous posts about adjusting factory length arms to 1" forward... I would think it would make your axle bind more than a LT since its a shorter length to make up that 1" forward . Without someone trying it its unknown, i eas almost thinking of findint a second set of lower control arms and use some threaded adjustable bushing you use on control arms (long arm) and try to adjust it 1" torward and see if it clears everything while turning ( no binding or contact shock to shafts), compression and down travel

What prevents you from going faster than 75? Tire vibration, lack of power, gearing?

Right now, with the 6speed, 4.56s and 33s I don't go over 75 just because it puts my RPMs up to 3k or so and I try not to run the engine that hard. It also drops my mpg to about 12-13.

What? I rarely even use 6th. They will hit the governor at 112mph in 4th gear no problemo.

Agreed. The gear ratios are generally FUBARed. 6th should be taller and the rest should be spread out more. I skip shift 99% of the time. 1-2-4-6

In my 6 spd I used to go 1-2-3-4-6. 6th wasn't nearly long enough.

There's your problem. It has a built in shift indicator. It goes DAH-DAH-DAH-DAh when you are supposed to shift. Or maybe that's the rev limiter. Same difference. :D

Thanks, not sure if I should do it but I found a local FJ80 front axle :) $450. Im debating if I should pick it up and get an aftermarket housing to switch it to driver side :D maybe go SAS im the future. I kinda would like the idea to keep my truck at a low stance

    Daily driver, not desert bomber.

I've noticed you subscribe to the drive it like you stole it school of thought. In more "drive it like you can't afford to fix it"
