After 25 + years of riding in the Bay Area, and seeing the devolution of abilities by other drivers. Be it distractions (cell phone), inexperienced drivers and just plain rude drivers who don't care if they kill anyone on the road. I made the conscience decision to sell all of my motorcycles and associated gear and put the money into a Tacoma truck. And I really enjoying fixing it up.

I've been down twice but escaped any serious injury.. I lost a buddy who was hit head on by someone who fell asleep at the wheel..

I feel like I've played the law of averages and won... And now I'm getting out alive.

So yeah, get the lift, mod the shit out of your truck and have fun with it. IMHO

This. Because you're still going to want a bike after a lift.

That dealer is offering the 14 R1 for $12.7 all fees. Good?

It's quite a bit higher than the $9995 you mentioned in your 1st post, and the dealer had the same $ in your link. Why did it go up almost 3k?

Tax, dmv, license, freight, setup fees...which i agree, are a bit high. Probably jacking me on assembly fees. Ill have to get a breakdown.

Motorcycle. You will never look back. Too bad it's a street bike so you probably won't put real miles on it, but get it anyway.

That's a lot in fees. Real get you in the door $ then they hit you with all that. Will you get to enjoy it often enough/long enough to not be concerned about the $ loss when it's time to sell? If you can afford it and you're happy then buy and enjoy a new bike but me I'd look for a clean used bike a let those fees be someone else's loss.

None yet, need to finish the HEEP first
I've seen enough death and dismemberment from people on motorcycles and other idiot motorists near them so R1 is out.

Secondly, why in the bloody hell would you lift a PRErunner. It is just a 2wd "truck".

Save the cash or go on vacation with your wife and get laid.

Looks like im leaning towards the bike.. Theres a local nor cal dealer that will beat the so cal price by a couple hundred...but ill still talk him down because it seems high. Ive done some decent trips on my old r1, so i dont pose in kickstand alley...i ride.

I will lift my prerunner later this year..why? Because i can :p:D

Sweet! Nice ride. I borrowed an R1 from a friend once. Still had a grin on my face two days after I gave it back to him.
