Near as I can tell it is solely down to engine type. V6 you have an immobilizer regardless of options package. 4 cyl you don't have an immobilizer regardless of options package. But maybe someone can chime in if they have a 4 cyl with an immobilizer!

the truck does not have an immobilizer for the third time, it is a base model, pretty impatient with a guy who has to work on his own stuff, so no immobilizer -tested the alternator today at auto zone its good. pulled the cam sensor in the process of finding out how to test it- so far um you guys are great at talkey talk

Nobody is trying to be pushy or impatient on ya. I think everyone (well most lol) are interested to see the outcome of this. Good luck on her, I'm sure it's a frustrating spot to be in.

Nice attitude, you could pay a mechanic...

Have you checked for spark? Have you checked for fuel? If you've cranked it a bunch and pull the plugs you should smell fuel or the plugs should be wet.

Have you pulled codes? The check engine light could be burnt out and there could be a pile of codes.

Can you hear the fuel pump prime when it doesn't start? You replaced the pump, did you check the relay?

Edit: I missed the Briggs and Stratton plug test earlier... So no spark.

    I'd check for stored codes.

Certainly sounds strange. Is it manual or automatic? V6 or 4 cyl?

Thank you! I must have missed that along the way someplace.

It sounds like the OP has tried everything obvious and then some. If he's really wrung out the electrical extensively it does seem the next obvious thing to try is ECU. But hopefully without having to purchase one just to find out. Temporally swap with another truck?

Definately ECU or wire coming from it. Open up the dash and let the fun begin!

What are you baseing these theories on?

Facts or something you pulled out of your rectum?

    I'm thinking Rectum.

There's a site called "hollander parts"online that you can buy directly from auto recyclers, you can search and find salvage lots near you, might help him out. I'm guessing it's a short in the harness somewhere, if the ecu was bad it wouldn't be intermittent.

    Hey OP,
Are you able to pull any Codes, do you have access to a Scantool?
