I usually wire brush/wheel or sand the steel down depending if the steel is visible. I just try and clean up the steel as much as I can. Some sharp corners are hard to get to. It's totally up to you and how motivated you are :p

^^^^ I know gramps has a pair that we used once to pull out a certain green 1st gen out of deep snow until he started going sideways and then the panda pulled him out. So they do help.

I didn't take any of the mill scale off my sliders on the big flat portions and they are holding up just fine, i probably would have taken a flap wheel to em but was out in GJ and was in a hurry to get them mounted up.

I took quite a bit of it off bobs rear bumper to clean it all up and paint on that will chip when using the high lift in the holes but has held up pretty well.

Come get your pickup they say, all issues were because of poor fuel quality but we fixed issues by replacing air fuel ratio sensors. 40 miles later on my way home tow truck coming to get me and take me back to the dealer with check engine lights and loss of all power. SMH

Any recommendations on a shop to help with the install of a lift kit on my 2011 DC SB Tacoma. My wife and I just moved to Colorado last June and we live in Highlands Ranch. Any leads on a trustworthy and knowledgeable shop in this area would be greatly appreciated. I'm not looking for any old shop to just sell and slap on a kit. I would really want someone that is conscientious of problems and wants to install a capable and dependable lift. Thanks in advance TW

I bet the wiring harness was damaged while installing the charger. Is that the 1st time you have seen this code? I guess it could also be rodent damage. Look for damaged wires on the drivers side of the engine.

The crank sensor is tucked behind the a/c compressor but the wiring runs out behind the alternator.
