Brought my 2005 Taco in for frame replacement. Dealer has had it 5 1/2 months now. Anybody else have to wait this long? Waiting for parts.::(

Wow 5 1/2 months is a bit ridiculous, I guess it will be worth it once you are riding on a new frame though.

That's crazy. That amount of time might warrant getting legal advice.

F*ck that! I would tell them to evaluate it for trade-in as if it already had the new frame and see what they can do for you.

A dealer in Haverhill MA. They gave me a 2014 Camry rental. Must be costing Toyota a bunch of money to pay dealer for the rental. Supposedly according to Toyota the frame is in but the parts kit is not in yet. My truck is buried under 5 feet of snow in a parking lot.

I know, Toyota is paying $35 a day to Enterprise for the F150 loaner they gave me 50 days ago. If it goes 5 months thats $5250 on top of the $12000 for the frame. All this for a truck that has 240k mi on it. Seems pretty crazy, they should have just bought it back from me and made their money back when I would buy a 2016

I'm not sure about the protocol on loaners. I waited roughly 4 1/2 months for my frame; during which time I drove my truck. I was only given the loaner for duration of the frame work.

Toyota quarantined my truck as soon as they agreed that frame should be replaced.

I'm guessing the brake lines, leaf springs, front lower arms and a bunch of hardware.

think real hard for a minute on what has to be done to replace a frame...

lol all that is disassembled on a frame replace anyway. non issue as
brake lines and fuel lines need to be all disconnected

The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

At this point if it was me, I'd be on the phone to the dealer and corporate alternate Mondays (i.e. next Monday: call dealer, the following Monday: call corporate, then repeat) asking politely but firmly, "what's the status, what's the hold-up, when will it be ready?"

It doesn't pay to be an asshole here, otherwise they won't even take your call. The objective is to keep the job in people's eyes and minds, so that it doesn't stop because someone somewhere simply forgot about something.

"Oh THOSE parts. Looks like they were sitting on shelf 6C3/bin H for two months. But they got installed on someone else's truck last week. We'll order another set right away."

If these kits contain anything shipped from Japan I'll bet they are sitting in a container ship off the coast of long beach. The strike is seriously screwing up a lot of automotive related companies. Some companies had to stop making cars because they don't have parts.
