So i have a question. Giggle all you want at this too

Could my defrost set on high and high heat crack my windshield?

The only thing I could think that happened was I had a small rock chip in it and then with I turned on the defrost to high/high it caused it to shoot a crack across the windshield.

 

Very possible. Extreme cold on one side with extreme heat on the other.

Kind of like throwing an ice cube in hot water.

 

Thats what I figured. It was just so cold yesterday after the basketball game I wanted to to defog so I could get home

 

Yea the bumper skid is pretty much just for looks though is my point. It barely sees any impact.

Sure if there is a chip in it already. How I cracked my windshield on my double cab more likely it was just the super freezing cold weather though.

 

It just sucks. It shot all the way across the windshield

 

Yep. Mine too. Luckily it's pretty low so doesn't bother me.

My family lives on a dirt road, and had to drive down it one day. Combination of a new rock chip right on the edge of the windshield, high heat defrost, and a small bump and it shot across.

 

Yeah mines outta the way too. I'll probably wait to get it fixed until right before summer. Don't really want to drive 2000 miles with a large crack across it haha

I can do it myself though..but might look into having it done professionally. It is kinda a bitch. But I replaced Frankensteins

Happened in St. Louis actually haha on the one cold day we had..was like only -2°

 

Well my headlights showed up today. But they forgot to include the ballasts. WTF???

 

I also have 2 new cracks in my windshield after our super cold weather in early winter. Not sure why because the spider web from a rock chip didn't move but the new cracks sure did. Happens here all the time

 

Well I may or may not have two huge bumpers in the spare room.

You're telling me. Got the call during my ornithology lab. I had an hour to get off campus and get the bumpers before they closed for the weekend. I get in there and they are like "Sweet, so you probably have a pretty big truck for these, right?" After I told them my situation with half of a 6ft bed they offered to deliver it to my home for free. The best part was that when they saw my truck one guy said. "Damn, I see that truck everywhere, I know exactly where you live! My buddy wants to build one just like it for hunting". Then the other two came out and had mentioned how they see it everywhere and how awesome my truck is .

We get home and the fastenal guy was peaking in the box to see the bumper .
