I honestly used to drink all the time through college and the few years after with no problem going to the gym and making okay progress. The last two years have been a different story though. I dont like to rest blame on anything, but when I am hungover and not feeling right for several days after a few drinks (light-weight status now) then obviously I am not going to make any progress. I would love to continue drinking but I just cant handle it anymore. I dont know if I developed a allergy/intolerance for it or if I am just now the biggest pansy of all time.

I'm 3 months out of college, so I still like to party a lot lol. I'm trying to cut back b/c the hangovers keep getting worse and it's killing my diet! I'm the same way, though...I get hungover pretty easily if I drink certain things. I try to stick to my whiskey and Coke Zero.

After talking with some of my friends last night I decided to try and max out at bench. Haven't done it since high school, so I really didn't know what to expect. I was alone in my office's workout room, so I didn't go crazy, but got 255 with some what ease. Guess I'm going to have to work towards 300 now.

I'm slowly realizing that staying out drinking isn't worth it because the hangovers get worse, I don't eat right, and my training and sleep suffer from it. If I'm gonna try to get below 10% bf, I gotta start getting more serious about it

I used to do Evan and water, but I drank it like water, so I always got way too drunk way too fast, so I started doing Evan and Coke or Sprite Zero

Amazing even the short time off will do it..

Remind me how old you are. I was a huge drinker most of my life and around 26 or so I went from never a hangover to not being able to buy my way out of one. In fairness I was drinking a case of beer 4-5 days out of 7 all the time. Had to stop totally when I was almost 29 and have never regretted it.

Same for me. I enjoy waking up early now without the hangover and feeling bad because of the nasty food I ate to go along with it...must be getting old

Weighed in at 190 this morning. Down 10 pounds in 8 weeks, which is right on track. No strength loss, but no major definition changes yet :pout: Still a 34" waist

Sean & Kona, where you at!? I gotta question that I think only you two may be able to answer.

For anyone who may know the answer, here's the backstory & question:

It's common knowledge that people who exercise or play sports need more sodium per day than what the RDA says (2300mg or some shit) due to them sweating out sodium when they workout (my consumption is about 4000 mg a day). It is also known that, the more water you drink, the more sodium you piss out, so people who drink more water can consume more sodium without any adverse effects. So right now, I'm eating like 4000 mg of sodium, my bp is normal, I don't ever cramp, and I drink a little over a gallon a day, which, to my untrained knowledge, tells me my sodium consumption is fine. My question is regarding potassium. I don't know much about how potassium and sodium work together, but to my understanding, the more sodium you consume, the more potassium you need to consume to counter-balance it and keep the two electrolytes at a good ratio. From what I've read, you can basically consume as much sodium as you want, provided you consume the proper amount of potassium (within reason, I'm sure).

    My questions are:

    1. What is the best ratio between sodium and potassium? I've read you should consume more potassium than sodium, which I am not doing. I consume 4093 mg sodium and 3344 mg potassium per day, so my potassium is lower, but they're not too far apart.

    2. Is this shit trivial and am I over-thinking it?

    3. What is everyone else's sodium & potassium consumption?

What are you cutting down to?

Just focus on the food you get to destroy after the weigh in and the weight you are going to crush tomorrow.
