The night I bought my 2015 my girlfriend was pairing my phone with the truck in the dealership parking lot. We started experimenting with some of the features and to our surprise when bringing up the last text she had sent me it read it off. It was hilarious, partly because we didn't know it was going to happen, partly because of the message itself, and partly because of the way the truck said it. :)

Cool. Agreed. I just lost a family member to a wreck that wouldn't have been fatal with belts, so I feel like I have to be a harpy about it.

I just traced the seat belt clip onto an old 5 gallon bucket lid and cut a couple of them out. Works great around the farm and such. Made one for the Ram 3500 too.

ETA: I've had my life saved by a seat belt, but there are plenty of times when this item is safe and practical.

Did you have to talk to the service department? Did it take long? Cost?

I took mine in for an oil change and asked the service guy to turn it off for me. No charge.

I'd like to turn my seat belt chime off because my beagle rides in the front seat and he doesn't like wearing a seatbelt so he sets passenger chime off. Stubborn beagle.

While at the dealer, have them turn the "door chime" to the lowest setting. For some reason, Toyota allows us with the Tech Stream program to totally turn off the seat belt chime, but not get rid of the door chime.

Some dealers claim that turning off the seat belt chimes is against the law. Its not, it just may be against that particular dealers' policy.

I never wear my seat belt when I take short trips around town on 30mph roads.

It's a miracle that I'm still alive......and I should be thrown in jail.

I'm pretty sure on the 2012+ you have to have the dealer use their computer to turn the chimes off. The problem is most of them will tell you "that it's not possible to change the seat belt chime" for liability reasons.

You could do like the other guy mentioned and purchase Techstream and use your personal computer to turn it off.

But I'll throw in my 2 cents and say you should wear your seat belt... Modern vehicles have bigger windows and speed limits are higher so when people wreck nowadays they get ejected or worse partially ejected and crushed... It's really really rare for people nowadays to die in a wreck while wearing their seat belt.

If you wear it every time you'll eventually get to the point where it feels weird to not wear one while in a vehicle.

For the hassle of putting on a seatbelt, it's nice insurance against getting t-boned by some fucktard running a red light (as happened to my wife on 30mph streets). Seatbelts aren't only there for when we fuckup. they're there for when other people fuckup. And other people fuckup all the time.

Only time I don't wear one is when I'm wheeling on trails or hunting on back roads. Granted, I probably don't look very cool driving through town with my seatbelt on...

I had my seatbelt beep turned off. That being said, I never forget to buckle up. All the beeper does is annoy me. People are acting like having the beep turned off is gonna turn you into a chronic "non-seatbelt wearing hooligan". Get real

For little trips around town on 30mph streets, I'll take my chances. I can decide when I need it, and when I don't, or when I just don't fucking want to put it on.

Just don't die before you make some long bed rail caps. The plastic ones on my 06 caused rust when it wore through the paint.
