Those look like he did the BHLM to them and just opted to paint the entire reflector black instead of leaving the chrome reflector for the marker lamp and the blinker lamp. Same for the grill, I imagine he did it himself. Not sure if the lamps can be purchased ALL black like this off of Ebay. :)

I didn't. Like mentioned above I did the BHLM with $5 worth of Krylon Fusion. People have bought blacked out lights on eBay, but many people complain about leaking, fogging, etc. At $160 or more for lights that may or may not keep the water out I decided $5 for paint and a few hours of my time was better.

Those are the "botched" Ebay lamps I won for $17.19 with bulbs. I had to remove the paint that was on them with Acetone. Repainted them with matte black epoxy paint that takes a minimum of a week to dry so I let them dry for a good month. Put back together and resealed with RTV sealant. One of them I sanded 95% of the road wear specks off with fine grit sandpaper. Then an hours worth of polish with a mini power ball got it back clear again. The other one was just polished.

The silver lines in the picture is the fence.

    This is the finished product:

I got the lights off of ebay. Haven't had any problem with them like some other people have.

That is next to do. Since the paint I use takes so long to dry I will have to wait until the July4th weekend so it'll have at least 3 days of drying on it before re-install. If kept under a warm/dry fan it'll dry good enough within 2-3 days. And I will blacken the badges too then. Also, that shiny ass rear bumper becomes black too. BTW, this matte black epoxy paint takes waxing well too. Brownell's Aluma-Hyde II in Matte Black.

First full day on the road, it rained here today, with them and I am not too big to admit one of them has fogged up. The one I did NOT sand on. So, it looks like I will be doing this to one of my originals real soon like. I guess that other lamp has been gone into too many times and did not seal good. I used new RTV and it looked to have a good seal around it but I guess it wasn't as good as it needed to be.

Good part is I now know it isn't that difficult to swap them out once you get the rocking in/out motion down. And you find that 4th bolt and figure out how to get it out/in. :)

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...

one good thing to check is that the boot around the bulb itself is secured very well and the little metal tension device is done right too. u can get moisture in there as well as the seals around it. i did mine and i didnt use any type of extra sealant. all i did was reheat the lights and press them back together when the stock sealant was still sticky.

I'll check that rubber boot good. I ran the lights on the way home and it almost dried it all out. It'll probably leave water spots but we will see.
