    I want to go. I will have all the tools and recovery equipment suggested. All I need are spare parts. Two weeks from now the suspension will be brand new and will just need spare steering components. The cv axles might be new by the time I get out there, if not will have spares. I will see how everything works out, but really want to be there.

    ETA: Name is Deane. Pronounced dean. Been looking at these moab trips and many others since joining this site. Just so happens that I might be in the neighborhood this spring. I am taking a leave of absence from my current job to travel the western US. Bounced across this thread tonight and figured it would be a blast to explore this area with like minded people that have been here before.

    trust me sir the pictures do not do this place justice. The first time I saw the sun rise over the cliff in Kane it captured my soul and I have to go back every year.

    oh my god its got to tie if not be the most magical place i have ever visited.
    its like those shows/movies where you put a dome over the city and its cut off from the rest of the world, every time i go down to moab i totally forget and dont even worry about anything outside of that valley. Its so beautiful and there is so much to do and so many awesome people...nothing else matters. Its a trip of a life time, and im on number 4 haha

    Shallow is fine. Nut and shaft only show about an inch over the hub face.

    and if you find yourself short on a few spares, don't feel like you shouldn't go...there's spare parts around camp that you can buy off others if needed, there's auto parts stores in town that you might be able to get some parts, and if needed konsta has that nice new strap he'll tow you back to camp :D but if not him, there will be many willing to help out and lend a hand if anything were to go wrong.

    and if you're worried about breaking, start on the easier trails, 2-5 rating and go from there...i enjoy my share of hard trails, but i also enjoy the easier scenic trails where you're able to take in more of what the area has to offer...

    there will be a nice variety of rigs out there from stockish to crawlers & buggies...there won't be any problems building a group to hit up any degree of difficulty trail
