I had to really really try to keep myself from buying one of those. The modularity of the pack is appealing.

I have their Gunslinger II pack for firearm related stuff. They make some bomb-proof packs. Not the lightest on the planet, but comfortable and durable. Packs for the Apoc. :)

I've been using a Khard 30 for awhile now and have to say that those Canadians know how to make bags and rucks. If you end up with one take a peek at the LBT puches and inserts. I went a little nuts and have some spares but I just keep them packed with other items to make switching out what is needed much easier.

Used my wife's DoD civilian medical insurance to score this deal.

Have repacked it a bit as we dip into it from time to time and I want to keep the over the counter meds current but for the most part it exists in the same form.

Just a bunch of old crap
I'm amazed with what I can pack just in the two side pouches. Right now I have a hammock, hammock tarp, and my titanium stove set just in one side. The other has my military patrol sleeping bag. Both are full and evenly balance each other out. Keeps the inside of the body of the pack open for all other gear (usually mostly just clothes/food/first aid). The small stuff goes in the top pouch behind my head. With the molle all over it, it could get crazy but I don't like to attach much behind the pack itself just for better balance. The adjustable frame is great, and I got it all dialed in for the optimum fit and I can run and jump with that thing fully loaded and it's solid and wears well for miles. Did a 5 mile cross country day hike with it fully loaded this past weekend and I forgot I was even wearing it.

Ok, I'll bite.. :) Not trying to flame you, just some personal experience.

I did it for more than on one occasion while outdoors and for longer times too. To put it in prospective - last time about a year ago in Himalayas. For about a week. Probably was doing something wrong.. but it is not even uncomfortable.

Maybe we are talking dress socks vs. hiking/mountaineering socks though?

But yes, you definitely can wear the same socks for 3 days without dying or destroying your feet. Just do not try to smell them after LOL.

Same goes for underwear or whatever else "wear" you can come up with. Not a problem. At all.

    Cheers.

I've gone several days on the same socks. Gold bond helps keep them fresh-ish lol

Also I've gone 8 days with my exoficio boxers without a change.. Gold bond, again, helps..

These were from my days of being a wilderness guide.. But back then I took a lot of pride in how awful I smelled by the end of a trip haha

Dependson who you are. If I tried that my feet andnuts would be rotting off and I wouldn't wanna be in the same room with myself. Everyone sweats and reacts to stuff/stresses differently. The trick is knowing what YOU will do and how to handle it. Sounds like you have you figured out.

    Exactly.

That is why I am having a thought of not judging those guys on youtube just based on their intention to wear the same socks for 3 days. :)

Merino wool socks are great for trips. My feet sweat like anyone else's but if you take them off at night and hang them to dry you can wear them day after day after day. Smartwool are best IMO. I have had the same luck with merino wool t-shirts. I could wear one for over a week without it smelling.

I wore Smartwool for years until I finally found Darn Tough at a local shop. Much better product, IMO. Lifetime warranty cannot be beat.

I have to say though, that the dry warmness of merino shirts is greatly exaggerated. Nothing beats quality synthetics, and based on my personal experience the king of them all is Arcteryx's phase material. It also dries much faster than any merino.

However those smell nasty in couple of days. Still warm though.

But merino will smell too. Pure 100% merino less so comparing with even 5% of whatever plastic they use. Icebreaker makes pure merino underwear, weight 200 I think.

    Cheers.

I've seen them but haven't needed more socks in a while. I will try them next. Thanks.

Moth problem? Mine holds :) - the first t-shirt I have bought 3 years ago is still very much alive. However this is beside the point, I was talking about bad smell, not longevity. Speaking of the cons - their warranty sucks, just 1 year.

For anything outdoor - I use synthetics only and only arcteryx :). Pricey, but you get what you pay for in technical clothing. Lifetime warranty helps too - used it multiple times. Even when it is my fault. E.g. torn climbing glove - they patched it for free +sent it back to me at their own expense! :)

I was razzed on for my taste in clothes. Arc'Teryx being the brand of choice for me too.

The issue was more of a me issue. Lots of knee and arm locks on some big walls. Just expected them to hold up better being an Outdoor brand and all. Have a bunch of Smart Wool bas layers that I have to send in too. Doing my climbing, I split the crotches out of them stretching too far. Mountain Khaki, Arc'Teryx, Outdoor Research, and Salomon all need warranty stuff sent in. My MSR Reactor also. ]

Love company with awesome warranties. I kill gear.
