Hey guys, im looking to see if there is a replacement kit out there for my 02' Taco 4x4 upper/lower controls arms along with the entire assembly? I've priced out parts individually but would rather order as a whole kit. Anyone got any info on the kit or what brand I should be looking at?

Honestly, what ever brand you like and makes you happy, but are you a off-roader or street driver will depend on Ball Joints or Uniballs.

I do a lot of trailing... but it is also my daily driver to and from work. Is replacing the control arms really going to make a difference? Or should I just have all bushings replaced and lubed?

stiffer ride? replace bushings with poly

more room for tires? replace UCAs with Aftermarket

about a few hundred dollars difference between the two so heed Ben's question.

are you looking to replace with OEM or aftermarket?

"full assembly" I'm assuming you mean coilover+ UCAs- sites like downsouthmotorsports have full MT kits you can piece together and buy at once

there aren't really any non-LT LCA replacements for us 1st gens though :pout:

Just replace the bushings. If you aren't lifting or doing any other shock upgrades or anything like that. If you PLAN to lift/upgrade, then future proof yourself and get the racing uca's. Then get replacement bushings (like moogs) for the lower stock arms. Then when you want to upgrade shocks/lift, you'll be all set and just need the shocks, as well as the rear components too..

They sell cheaper oem type upper racing arms with ball joints versus uniballs. Might look into those. For your light offroading. Forget who sells them.

But if you don't plan on doing any major upgrades, just replace all the bushings. No reason to get new control arms unless they are rusted to hell or something like that. When you change the bushings, just scuff them up and rattle can them. Or powder coat them. Be like brand new with the new bushings.

Thank you for all the replies.

I have already put a ome 2" lift on it and just noticed that all my bushings are looking pretty worn down. So I figured while I was replacing those I might as well do the upper arms and ball joints as well. I just talked with Toyota about the lower ball joints and I guess they were a safety recall and so they are taking care of those here next week at no cost to me.

Now I am mainly looking at just preventative maintenance. She rides really nice as she sits, so im not really interested in a stiffer ride or anything. Just want to keep her going and on the road.

It really just depends on year, and time made. My 2004 did not qualify for the recall on the lower ball joints. If you call into your local Toyota dealer they can look it up for you. If you Give me your vin # I can look it up for you when I get to work tomorrow.
