You're likely to get around 2 1/2" on a DC

No worries. Maybe I'll re-post in the 1st gen forum. Sounds like it's mostly 2nd gen'ers in here.

Stuff and things that make it better.
The 883's should be about right, they give me just under 3" with a bumper and winch. With the rear bumper/extra weight I would definitely add the D6XL leaf and maybe a larger shackle later once you see how the truck sits. I drive around with 200-300lbs always and with the D6XL I still have a sight rake.

Anyone with full OME/Dakars running 285/75's? I'm thinking 1.25 inch spacers from spidertraxx are required? Thanks for the help.

Right right sorry, I was going to try and just run the OEM TRD 16 inch wheels. I'm more worried about the fronts rubbing on the UCA or something. I remember talking to Beavis on PM a few weeks back about his set up which is exactly what I'm going for but apparently his username doesn't exist anymore?

I've been running 885's and 275/70/17 on my stock Sport alloys for over a year and a half , no rub

Do you think going up to the 285/75 would give you rub? How close are you to hitting your OEM UCA's? I would imagine the width would be the problem more than the slightly larger height.

Well Gents, I got my OME kit on a couple of weeks ago and here is my mini write up.
First off I got 885x coils, 3/8" Poly spacers, dakar leaf pack, nitrocharger sports, and LR UCA's. All from wheelers offroad. Totally recommend them, really nice guys and very helpful.

Once the kit was on, coming from a 3" spacer lift, everything road much nicer on the road, in the since that you can feel the dampening from the shocks. No vibrations at all! But on road I really was not sure it was worth the 1400$ upgrade from the Rough country kit...
UNTIL I got the time to take it offroad and holy shit. The truck handles so so much better, I can take the rough gravel roads much faster now, and the truck even feels better on the slower tight trails. everything stays very smooth.
Im very very happy with the upgrade! Feel free to ask any questions!
Thanks for all the help guys!

Going to resurrect the old questionnaire from the beginning because I know it helped me out a TON when deciding on the lift to get. Overall I am very happy with the suspension itself, just sort of annoyed at having to buy new UCA's to get the alignment right and shims to get the small driveline vibe to go away, but this is to be expected when lifting and part of the fun really. I have noticed a SIGNIFICANT improvement in the rear especially. I have a hellacious curb for my driveway and when I drive out of it diagonally I can barely even tell I went over it on the rears. Flexes very smoothly and nicely. The rear has settled a good bit since the After photo was taken and yes I know my stock tires looks sort of comical as it sits. Once I get the new UCA's in I am planning on running 285/75/16R's. I am planning on getting a full rear bumper with swing out as well which should level everything out nicely.

What did you put up front & what did you get? I did the older Nitrochargers (non sports) with 885's pre-assembly by Wheeler's. 2.5 inch gain on both sides.
What did you put in back & what did you get? Dakar leaf packs in the rear, installed as shipped, and the older Nitrochargers (non sport). Gained almost 3.5 in the back but I just put them on and I can already see them starting to settle and get a little lower.
If you got Dakars on a 2nd Gen share your measurements with OZ 2nd Gen OME Dakar hub to fender measurements: Before, 21 rear. After 24.5 rear.
Are you running trail armor & how much lift did you loose or what did you do to regain/maintain lift? No armor but I do have a long bed shell, roof rack, etc. up top.
Tire & wheel specs & rub or what you did to eliminate rub: Stock wheels and tires, no issues.
Are you still running a sway bar? Yes.

I want to note as well that I was NOT able to get my alignment right with the stock UCA's and am going to be getting the Camburg Ball Joint UCA's.
Also I didn't install the supplied driveline bearing spacer at first and there was significant driveline vibe from launch and in low speeds. After installing the spacer the vibe is much less noticeable but definitely still there. Will be investing in some 3 degree shims and will report back on my findings.

^^ This is very helpful. I've been trying to decide what to get on my access cab. Thus set up is what I've come up with so far so its nice to see what it will look like. The one thing I might do different is get 886's. I have some sliders and skids, plus might be getting a bumper.

Glad I could help. I had the same questions about the AC but it appears to be pretty similar to what 4 door guys get from 885's. I think the 886's might be a little stiff even with the sliders and skids but if you get a bumper on there it'll probably be pla pretty good setup.

Ya, I've heard mixed things about the 886's. So say they can be stiff and others say they are not that bad with no weight up front, guess its all in personal preferance. Seeing how the Tacoma is not my daily driver I could probably live with it being stiff till I get the bumper.

My kit is supposed to be here today, how long did it take y'all to install a full kit (with preassembled struts, Dakars, and UCAs) if you did it yourself in the driveway. I have air tools but I'm still just a shade tree mechanic.

Too poor to list anything interesting.

This is true. I spent more time fighting with my rear brake line extension than I did putting the both front assemblies.

Order your lift. Install it. Go get it aligned and then you'll know if you need new UCAs. If you don't, spend the money on sliders and skids but don't spend it on spacers :crapstorm:
