Sale is pending on my white '93 FZJ80. More mod money! :) Looks like I'll be picking up a winch soon.

Here's the winch I'm planning on. They've been getting good reviews and I've seen several in person on some nice builds. Features seem good and this one is totally submersible so I don't need to worry about solenoids etc getting wet. Come with synthetic rope too.

Seems pricey, is It that much better than a Warn?

Pretty "normal" price for quality winch. It's on par with the cost of the similar sized warn. But yeah, it's pricey compared to a Smittybuilt. :stirthepot:

I'm still considering one of the TJM Stealth winches too. A lot of things I like about those.

Your right, I forgot how much I paid for my warn m8000s, I was thinking it was half that, maybe that's how I justify my purchases haha. Just forget what I actually paid over time

Thanks. Most of the big stuff is done already. Just a few things left like the PrInSu rack and RTT, and a winch. Most everything else I have planned has been completed.

I want to see the second swing out on the rear bumper. Saw this image the other day and it made me think of your cruiser.

BTW, if things go as planned I should have your rack ready by the middle of next week. Fingers crossed.

Yep it's in the plans. I'll be ordering one of the ladder kits from 4x4 labs since it's cheap and so simple. I'll just need to do the hinge and build the swing arm. Hoping to do that in the next few weeks.

15 years and 150K miles later an my old '93 left yesterday on it's way to a new owner. It has been a fantastic truck for us for a long time. A short history for anyone that cares, we found it back in 2000 in Houston, Texas with 110K miles and it already had a bit of a lift and the ARB bumper but that was about it. We took countless trips in that truck and it was our primary family wheeler as each of our 4 kids were born. It had very few mechanical issues ever. I think we replaced a bunch of hoses and an O2 sensor, and needed to replace a bent axle shaft at one point but otherwise it was extremely reliable. The odometer shows 252K miles now, and it could be getting a V8 swap by the new owner.

Yesterday was probably the last time for a while I'd have 3 Toyotas in the driveway so I had to snap a photo. On the plus side, my wife suggested last night that we start looking for a old project truck for my boys so maybe we'll have a 3rd Toyota again before too long.

always sucks to see someone driving away with your pride and joy, hopefully the new owner throws that v8 in that would be awesome.

it wasn't too bad seeing it go. It has been a great truck and did everything we ever asked of it. If I had been left without anything to get me out on adventures, then yeah I'd have been bummed but the cupboards are still full. :)

Only thing on the list right now is a winch. Still trying to make a final decision on which one, but some of it will be that.

    Hmmmm.

I pulled the trigger on a ComeUp DV9S winch. Should have it by the end of the month.

non-truck update. Last weekend my wife and I drove to Longmont, Colorado to pick up a new puppy. We were stoked to be able to find him so quickly since they are really rare. A lot of people have to wait a few years to get a puppy because there are currently only about 800 in existence. He's a 3mo old Chinook, that we have named Kilo. We've had him almost a week now and he's been awesome. Looking forward to another hiking/camping/wheeling buddy.
