Here's mine in the 255/80/17 flavor, very surprised at how quite they are on the road.

I'm glad to hear these are good in the snow. Now that people have had these for a while, how are they holding up with mileage. Do they get excessively noisey? How many miles do these tires last? Any balance issues with high mileage? Wet traction with age?

I asked some of these questions before, but now with more people having them and some of you having some higher miles I'm curious.

I also see they don't come in a load C. What kind of mph drop did any of you see with these. I would be going with a
265/75-16. With my current duratracs I didn't loose much, as I went with load c.

I'm running 40 psi........I think I read it back a while in here maybe. 255/80/17 and these are way quieter than I thought doing great on road so far in dry, wet and offroad felt good as well in mud and sand. Haven't gotten any snow yet here in sc so we will see might go up to nc to snowboard and see some snow!

I've got about 6k on mine and they are doing perfectly well still. Only way to tell they aren't brand new is the tits are worn off of them

This is from my 03 Tundra:
59,800 miles on my first set.
They were noisier than new but no where near mud tire noise.
No balance issues and they wore flat and even across the tread.
Wet traction was not as good as new. That's normal. It was still safe and good in the rain just had to not mash the go pedal from a dead stop.

I'm running 32psi and love the ride. It's my DD and with the E rated they are stiff at the higher psi's.

A few people have had them for a while now. They seem to be getting around 50k-55k before they need replacement. The wet traction is superior to the duratracs from what I've read. I haven't personally tried the duratracs but I'm extremely pleased with these and can tell you they outperform the BFG's AT hands down in any conditions I've driven in.

    Looks so good
I need to get me some SCS wheels to put these tires on :jellydance:

Did you rub your front flaps or did you have them off prior to install?

Dang, I want these tires now. Got super stuck in some snow the other day, not enough clearance and open diffs. I don't think tall/skinnies will fit on an 8.5" wide wheel

Looks like I'm turning my Maxx's in today. Too bad for whatever reason they wouldn't stay balanced and stop pulling to the right.

    Weird...

Are you getting a new set or going with a different tire?

    Is it the wheels? :notsure:

The local tire shop I went to said the SCS wheels I have were easy to balance and barely took any weight

    I know it is weird.

I've been torn about getting another set or trying something different. I called Discount and they have the newly released load C BFG KO2 in 265/70/17, guess I'll be trying those.
Really wish I hadn't had the issues bc I like the Maxx's, guess it's just one of those things. On the same note it's been real annoying having my truck pull as bad as it has, and having the steering wheel shake and bed bounce going down the road, makes me feel like I'm driving a POS. Only after road force balancing will it smooth out (but still pulls), then within days it's back. Can't be pit stopping every few days to deal with it tho.

Never had an issue with my Stealths before. So I don't believe so.

I like the thought of these tires - I have a 2004 Tacoma TRD PreRunner. No lift. Will the 265/75-16 fit no problem? OE size is 70 aspect ratio.

With the 3.7* of castor I ended up with (requested 3+* when I got the alignment with 0* toe and camber) it rubs the flaps and just barely hits the body mount when full turned in reverse. I knew that it would hit going in and the cab mount chop will hopefully be done next weekend.

I know this has been brought up many times, but I'm in dire need of direction. I came across a good deal on st maxx from discount tire's ebay store and want to jump on the deal. My ordeal is that I'm undecided between 275/70/17 and 285. I don't mind cutting plastic, but don't want to do CMC. I know there are a lot of factors to take into consideration, but I've just about fried myself trying to figure out what would be best. It is my DD and the suspension wont see much flex. OME 3" will be installed with dakars in the rear.

I know the 275 should clear with little or no rubbing, but I'm concerned that it'll look small in the well. Any insight is appreciated.

Wheels will be SCS Stealth 6.

*Disregard- 275 made the cut. I'll post them up when they've been mounted.

Just got a fresh set of Discoverer AT/3s on and what a difference from my worn out Discoverer H/Ts. I've been caught out in the snow a few times now, you can still spin the wheels and fishtail if you hammer the gas. Otherwise, if you take it easy, stopping is much improved, highway lane changes over snow tracks are solid, corners hold. Great tires! Just wish I had a frame of reference to compare to dedicated winter tires.

I didn't seem like there was a dedicated thread for Discoverer AT/3, but lots of talk of them in this one. No hijack intended.
