Hey just signed up but have been lurking for a awhile. appreciate the good info on the site. used the sight help me make my purchase. I had seen a couple of threads but not with real input of MPG on the supercharger.

I have the 2015 TRD off Road 4.0 auto- stock with the exception of the factory installed supercharger. Wife has the F150 ecoboost and I could not be the slow one...

Anyway just hit 5000K I have done multiple MPG on my across town commute- mixed driving and getting a solid 17.5 mpg. Only one extended trip so far that got me 20.5 hwy. Trying to see if I can better the F150 in MPG

Anyway I thought I put that into the archives- next will be exhaust and I will repost those anticipated gains.

How does it drive with the S/C compared to the ecoboost? I know it's apples to oranges, but I was down between the Tacoma or a F150 Ecoboost. Obviously chose the Tacoma.

Told the wife last night that a TRD supercharger might be in my near future because it's no where near as quick as the Ecoboost I test drove and almost bought.

OP, is yours a 4x4? I get 14-15 around town with a stock truck. What was yours before the supercharger?

I have a 4x4. It's been a rough February in Chicago and my MPG has dropped to 17.

    It's the wife's T4R so it's stock
    S/C + snorkel + 4x4 + 4.56 + 285s = Terrible MPG... but the whine of the S/C makes it worth it :D

Mine is a 4x4. It had the S/c sense day one -I stay over 17 mpg and under 18 no matter which fuel I run- non ethanol, ethanol 91 octane or 87. That is driving it easy with only a couple of WOT mashes each tank.

As far as the Ecoboost - The supercharger hits harder of the line but I dont think I would get too cocky at a street light. Those twin turbos spool at a low rpm, our stock F-150 has the 3:31 gear set- I think the 3:73 equipped would be a really good match-up in a dragrace.

the TRD supercharged tacoma will get raped by an ecoboost F150 - those trucks only weigh a few hundred pounds more than a tacoma, have 100 more hp, and 150 more ft/lb....

I average about 14mpg with my supercharged baja on 33s

The whine makes me hate it - it's far too loud for the power it adds... I kind of wish I hadn't done mine frankly...

I have a 2014 4x4 trd off road. MPG on 91 octane is averaging 16.8 (~270miles between fill ups most of the time). While most of the miles are highway, a lot of it is sitting in stop and go bay area traffic.

These are the numbers I came up with when researching. Best apples to apples I could put together.

The f150 also has a closer ratio six speed auto trans that shifts much faster than the tacoma. I still chose a tacoma because the size of a dclb fits my use much better than a super crew 6.5' bed f150.

Jesus, I don't know where you get your facts from.

    306 vs 365 is only 59hp.
    4150 vs 6000+ lbs (2013)

    http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...-ecoboost-v-6-test-review-less-is-more-page-2

15.3 in the 1/4 mile for the F150. I ran a 14.3 my first time out with just a Cold Air Intake.

I have only raced 2 ecoboost F150's and I beat them both. I had a better contest with Ram HEMI recently.

It's in lbs/hp ratio. The lower the lbs the faster/quicker it should be in theory.

The Tacoma, based on my research, has a 2.1 lb/hp and 2 lb/ft.tq advantage over the F150 Super Crew.

My 2007 is a Manual and I was getting about 17 MPG when I first got it. Now I"m lucky to get 15. I enjoy driving it though. Even if I have to fill up every 250 miles.

This tank I'm on will probably be closer to 12MPG with all the city driving with 4wd from ice and snow.
