No. I think she was so drunk she didnt realize it, she kept driving. Actaully flipped her car on the interstate on the way home. So, I can't really be mad, I should have tried harder to keep her from leaving.

Anyone know how to find out if this accident will affect the resale value of my truck, and if so how I go about getting the insurance to pay for the depreciation.. I heard someone here talking about that a while back.. hmmm

 

Too late, my parents called the cops that night when she hit both my brothers car and my truck (both really new) and drove off. Plus then Id have to pay for it out of pocket, I didn't do the damage so I shouldnt have to pay for it (nor can I afford it with these stupid truck payments..)

 

To my understanding insurance doesn't compensate for depreciation.

Is your sis ok? I hope that she didn't get a dui but she definitly shouldn't have been driving.

 

Yeah, she is fine. She did not get a DUI either, don't know how she got out of it all with nothing but a few scratches and a reckless driving ticket (and well, a totaled car), but I am thankful for it. Someone was def. looking out for her that night, hopefully she has learned her lesson. I know I have.

My parents already reported the accident to the insurance, and if we didn't how would we get the bumper fixed? Out of our pockets? Thats not an option. she is not my sister , so its her insurance paying us.. if she was we would not have claimed it..

 

Sometimes you get screwed reporting little stuff like that. I would have left it. You should have let her ride your horse home.

I did not have anything to do with reporting it, it was all my parents. I was drunk and freaking out. I could hardly talk to the cop..

 

Glad to hear she is ok and unfortuanatly she learned the hard way but hopefully as you said she learned from it.
