Today I am getting a like new but used set of 285 duratacs from a friend.... from all I've read about rubbing I think I may regret this....

 

Do you have a lift? And what kind of driving do you do?

 

I have the 5100 OME 885 lift. Mostly street but I do the beach fishing thing occasionally.

 

Eh. I wouldn't worry too much. Many cut and remove stuff because they wheel the piss out of their truck at the mall. But as long as you're not doing a lot of full turning, you should be ok. You may have to trim the inner plastic fender with a razor. Just see what you find when you're DDing. Look for the rub marks of the tires. My friend has a 3" lift and 285s. He didn't modify anything. But he also keeps it primarily on the street.

 

my 265 were rubbing like crazy last weekend at BMRA.

 

I don't do hard wheeling... never had the opportunity to. Beach runs for fishing are normally flat runs so we shall see. Know that I have found this site I do plan on jumping on on some of the local meets so more off road things may come.

 

I am not worried about plastic trimming... Hitting the UCA's is another story.

I have the tire swap at 2 or I'd head up. I'm planning on going to the 21st beach meet.

 

They may be there all day. Not sure.

Sounds like you can always get a burger beforehand since the swap is at 2
