i wanna take my front diff drop off. what do i need to get and do?

just do the install but reverse it?? Why you want it off anyways??

 

All you need is the stock length bolts. Remove the spacers, and install the OEM length bolts. It should only take about 30 minutes, max.

 

i want if off because it acts like a bulldozer blade in a hole. i have to get a pic of it posted 2mor it looks dropped a few inches 2 me. it has blocks in rear and lift and leveling kit up front. sittin on 305 65 17 dick cepek crushers. its my first yota and i'm in love. my cv axels are almost straight, thats how low my diff is dropped

 

thats a good thing to have you cv axels straight, but if you want it off go ahead.

 

Get a small diff drop 3/4" orstack a few washers or go no drop seem to be no real diffrence. It you want to know if they work or not check out TTORA and you'll find more of an argument then its worth.

 

i just installed mine today I think they are worth having in, many say "they won't make a difference" but I think overtime miles and offroad abuse they will.

 

i understand the benefits of diff drop, but i ultimatly want more ground clearance. look at the one with diff drop and tell me what i really have. thanx

 

wow lot of lift Im not too sure on that set up but it looks like you need em to me (they are like 5 or 6" long. Im sure someone will chime in with a better answer but from what I see I dont see a way to run that set up with out them??

Looks like you have something like a 6" procomp lift or similar?? thats just how they are you only get more ground clearance by running a larger tire im pretty sure you are stuck with it the way it is.

A diff drop kit that most of us think of consists of 2 extended bolts, and 2 spacers. They drop your diff about an inch. Some people praise them, others don't see the point.

With that said, what you have there is a drop bracket lift kit. Companies like Fabtec, Pro Comp, and Tuff Country make these kits for our trucks and they range usually between 4''-6'' of lift. Because of the high lift, a drop bracket needs to be installed (not spacers) in order to not put strain of the cv shafts. A big part in accomplishing this is by cutting out your stock cross-member and replacing it (welding it in place) with one supplied in the kit. The result is a diff clearance not that much greater than what you had to begin with. This is one of the major cons of drop bracket kits.

What this means is that a lot of work went into putting that lift on the truck and it's gonna take a lot of work to take it off. That new cross-member is gonna have to be cut out, and replaced with a stock cross-member. Stock cross-members are not easy to come by. You may need a welder to weld it back in if you are not handy with a welder. Your steering knuckles have most likely been replaced with aftermarket ones. Hardware is gonna have to be changed. You basically have to dismantle the front end and return it to its stock form, Then decide what route your gonna go to lift the front end, which is a whole other story.

OR you could lift that baby higher and put some bigger tires on, this would raise your diff's .
