Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I'm in the upper northwest and the same thing is true here, 2WD trucks do not sell to the general consumer very well at all. The only Tacomas I see in that configuration are the 5 lug trucks bought by companies for fleet work. My local CarQuest auto parts has two of them used for deliveries around town for example, but I have yet to see one used for a personal vehicle.

I do see PreRunners from time to time on used lots, but 9 times out of 10 they come from other states. Most used car lots/dealers wont even take 2WD trucks or will give you a shitty trade in on one because they just don't sell worth a damn here.

Seriously though, how is 4WD more maintenance? If you don't abuse it and use it properly, it wont be an extra cost to you other than lower gas mileage from the added weight.

Maybe he's a time traveller and went ahead of time a couple years and saw how successful the 3rd gen turned out to be?

This I had to fight to get $16k for my my trade on my 2008 pre runner dlbcb trd sport for my 2011 when I got stationed here. They kept telling me it was worthless to them since this is the NE and it's 2wd, guess they were wrong since it was on the lot no more than 2 weeks.

funny the difference geography makes... I just bought a 15 prerunner 2wd TRD Sport and since I live in Florida... there was only 1! 4WD Taco on the lot... all 2wd-SR5 other then the one I scored. I also think they are shrinking inventory in anticipation of the "coveted by some" 16

That's just what they do to get people to go down on the trade in value. It's the oldest negotiating tactic in the book - find something about the vehicle and say no one will want it.

Thats what I figured, wasn't my first rodeo, think I did alright since the first trade in offer was 13k. And my response was pretty much GFYS.
