Yeah Fantan lake trail branches off on the way to Sawtooth. It is a short trail to the lake but it is beautiful as well! I am in Billings so we spend a lot of time in that area because it is so close. I actually got a fishing ticket up there because I can't keep track what is MT and WY. We were 5 miles from the MT border and he slammed me with a $220 fishing ticket lol.

Looks like it goes down to me. It would probably destroy the ipad though... There is the possibility that the ipad could detach and be launched into your face or chest though...

Looked at the app. It's 20 bucks. And Id need a Bluetooth gps module.....oooorrrrr I think my 5100 radio will work. Just needs a GPS signal. And I know my 5100 has it and can do blue tooth. So. Might be worth it.

Pretty cool the stuff you can do with it.

Hmm...might look at getting a cheap android tablet for this instead.

    Never,one. Apple only.

Not sure the 5100 will work. Seems that Apple is very picky about what blue tooth devices talk to it...go figure. It's a 100 bucks for the 5100 dongle. But it would be intergrated and no batteries..and I could use the iPad to control the radio...

There's always a place for paper maps! I will always keep the WY atlas and blm maps in my truck!

yea Monte, LeadNav seems way worth the 20$. Be sick if you could link it to the radio!!!

For the record. I was attempting to get up on a rock in an area recently to check for body flex that was surrounded with wet grass. The tire destroyed the grass in the immediate surrounding area to the rock, making the wheel slippery. I begun to climb a rock and just as soon as I started I slipped off as I continued up, making my LCA land on the rock. I heard a hard thunk sound, thought in my mind, "shit!" So I got out, checked, and found the rock's material all destroyed, checked my LCA and found it all powdery from the rock dust, rubbed it off thinking it removed the PC. Nope. LCA was there, whole, still PC'd at the area of the bash, and unphased by the rock. It was looking at me like, "is that all you got pansy?" :D

I am not a fan of superbumps. For high speed wheeling, air bumps are king. I have stuffed the piss out of the super bumps on one hard bottom out once. Needless to say, it was after that stuff that I prompted to switch to air bumps.

They are not particularly difficult to "stuff" while crawling. All it takes is a little experimenting with the air bumps PSI and they will perform either as a short shock in high speed wheeling, or a high tech bump stop at crawling.

Its only roughly 9300 ft. The base where we started was about 4500ft. Was a good climb!

Oh that's not bad at all. Looks like it was a really enjoyable peak! And you had perfect weather for it, too.

The coating flaked off in some weird areas on mine but is still a solid coating and leaps and bounds better then the usual coated metal parts you see out there!

I just feel that for our front ends if you run MT and obviously the shocks being as short strokes as they are, if you do any kind of wheeling to speed and can afford them, air bumps are a good idea for you. Set correctly based upon the bottom out of your shock, a 2" incher will provide you better control on the last 4" of bottom out. (Based upon the 2:1 suspension travel theory)

I like this build thread dude. There is good tech info here to exchange, but yet its light and chill. And that puppy!!! It looks like you are all set out towards where you live dude!
