Nite Shades Question...

I have been thinking about darkening my tail lights with the nite shades stuff but I really don't want it as dark as I have seen most of the other tail lights on here. I was wondering if anybody had done just 1 coat and had taken pictures so I can see it. I want my tail lights to match the BHLM and blacked out badges, and I can't stand the pink tint. If not nite shades does anyone else have another solution to slightly darken the tail lights?

 

I felt the same and tried to do 2 lighter coats. I am happy with the tint, but night shades doesn't cover quite as well as some paints. It ended up a little spotty.

Your best bet would be to apply a few coats and then wet sand a little off. Then clear coat with at least 3 coats.

It's also very important to wet sand before you begin any paint.

I haven't used it on the Tacoma taillights but I have on two other vehicles. One coat is very light. The great thing about Niteshades is that you go one coat at a time and then stop when you have the look you want. Then wet sand and clear coat. 2-3 coats is about what you're looking for.
