    Too few to list.
Tacoma can handle that weight. Haven't you seen the Tundra tow a space shuttle?

Flat land towing with trailer brakes i'd try it in the mtns or windy roads, no way. I've towed light trailers that wagged like a tail no matter what they were loaded with if the load wasn't placed on the trailer balanced out well enough and we seem to agree that bus isn't necessarily center as a level load.

Either way that bus looks like a fun project of some sort, food truck mobile bar or maybe a sweet rv!

    Pretty cool looking load.

Keep in mind that fish tailing has nothing to do with the towing ability or capability the truck, it has to do with weight distribution of the load on the trailer and tongue weight applied to the truck. I've towed heavy on my 06 Tacoma and it pulled it but it was no fun. heavy towing is all about proper weight distribution + grunt to pull it. Even a not so heavy load that if improperly balanced will fish tail you and possibly jackknife your rig.

Well if the trailer weighs 4300 empty you can be sure that bus weighs more than 2200 even if the body is aluminum the engine and frame is not and even without an engine it would still be over 2200. So yes he probably did put others in danger. Just because it can be done does not mean it should be done. ;)

Would I have towed that load with my truck? Nope. Could I have safely? Yep. As mentioned a few times, proper weight distribution in trailer loading is far more crucial than the actual weight. My completely empty trailer fishtails like crazy. Load it up properly with the balance of the weight forward of the axle and it tows like it's not even there.

It still proves a Taco can pull that much weight, which is well over the rated towing capacity. It only fishtailed because the truck is a lot smaller than the load and isn't designed to pull that much weight.

Ultimately, though, the comments about fishtailing and tongue load distribution help to point out why the Tacoma is less than ideal for pulling this heavy.

Given everything we think we know about the weight of the load - that trailer should have a tongue weight pushing a thousand pounds, assuming the load was balanced properly.

Absent air bags or serious aftermarket leafs, a thousand pounds dropped on the Tacoma hitch is gonna sky the front end like a 5100 leveling kit on max bro-lean.

Everyone would immediately look at it and say "too much weight, dude."

With a weight distributing hitch and air bags, and properly functioning trailer brakes, I'd cautiously tow it a relatively short distance in good conditions with light traffic.

Without functioning trailer brakes, I wouldn't even hitch the truck to the load.

No, it fishtailed because the load isn't balanced properly.

It most likely did fish tail. If the entire load was only say 8,000# then the tong weight should have been some thing close to 1,000#. That in it's self is way over the Tacoma's rating. That was a bone head ideal on just about every level. That was a capable trailer but not a capable tow vehicle on all counts. Pulling a load is only a small portion of the equation I have no doubt I could pull 10,000# with my Tacoma but that is where it would end about 3 feet from where I started.
