i got used headlights to replace my awful yellow-hazed ones.

i keep pushing the two boxes around in my garage, eyeballing them. i need to get off my ass and do this.

    how many hours?

if a "one beer" job is the easiest, and a "10-beer" project is a cussing, knuckle busting nightmare.. where on the "beer" scale does my headlight swap fall? :D

Very easy. Replaced both of mine in about an hour. So, 1 beer job. Worst part is finding the 1 bolt on each side at the bottom by the fender.

Like they said, not too bad. One bolt can be a little tricky. Take your time so you dont scratch the lens or break any tabs getting them back in. Make it a 3 beer job so you enjoy yourself.

You don't have to worry about putting the fender side bolts back in either. They'll stay just fine without them. Been running mine for years without the bolts and never had an issue.

I did the same. Didn't get in years before I sold the truck, but I went half a year or more with no issues.

Haha. I bought that plastic fastener removal tool today. I'll take a crack at later this week. No can lay hands on that fender side bolt pretty easy laying on my back facing up into the void.

Yep an hour. If you can, tape the new headlights with some blue masking tape as well as laying a dishtowel on the bottom/outer edge of fender for scratch protection.

One beer. But that last bolt was like a Toyota engineers cruel joke. It was 90% of the work!

    this was great advice!! thanks.

my hands are cut. lotion application stings. :)

having done this, i bet i could do it sub 1-hour. i did however invest the $10 and bought the "plastic fastener removal" tool. it makes taking out those plungy fasteners much easier and they are less prone to snapping.

i am glad this i behind me. i had nightmares about that lower bolt. i never did SEE it. had to do that one all by feel. in and out.
