Good excuse?

Pic above work?? First time trying to attach one. victim of a hit and run the other day, unfortunately not sure exactly where it happened and the only place that had surveillance was Walmart. The cop didn't see anyone hit the truck on the tapes so I'm out of luck. Is this a good excuse for plate bumper and subsequent suspension upgrade??

Bump plastic out? If that's what you're asking, no. It's cracked around one of the edges.

No. But you will buy beefy wheels shortly after.

Which plate bumper are you thinking of going with?

 

I don't really need it for the armor factor for offroading. The truck does see some rough area when I go hunting but nothing too major. My view is that if I have to put money into a bumper, might as well get something aftermarket. I'm thinking maybe relentless. Might look weird on a mostly stock truck though.

Based on the above, why not buy someone else's OE take off? Cheap and fairly plentiful.

I am in the same boat, waiting for something to happen so I can justify dropping the cash on a sweet bumper. I don't really go offroad except when hunting and fishing, but I think the benefits of those bumpers go beyond just trail riding (like if you were to smash a deer or something), plus they look so freakin cool. IMO, it wouldn't look "weird" on a stock truck, but it would certainly look much better with a lift and some meaty tires.

 

Get an Avid light bar. It's strong enough to protect against parking bumps. Mine shows evidence of people bashing into me. It's not as expensive as a plate bumper if you don't need it

 

Wish I could hit a deer or have a bumper ruined by another driver. Seriously.

 

I like that light bar. That would have saved the bumper in this case. If i replace OEM bumper and get a light bar Im up up to the price of a relentless aluminum front bumper..But I dont really need a plate, so i think thats my answer.
