Thanks for the link, i will definitely start using those.
JSI, if you have not closed the wall you might want to raise the box to allow for baseboard.

They leak. I've seen plenty as a plumber. I only use them as temporary like a slab leak until I can do a professional repair.
    Chlorine eats the orings.

Great, thanks for the heads up. Every joint in my crawl space has them and it was new construction. They have not leaked so far and it's been 8 years. Guess I'll have to inspect them regularly.

It's a gamble. Like picking up a hitchhiker. On crack.
Just don't close them up in a wall. Pex or uponor.

Sharkbite makes 2 types... The push in, gripper teeth/O-ring type and the copper ring compress type.

The push-ins are the problem for the long term.

Gains you about 3-4" of extra room and the flexible dryer vent doesn't kink

Pex. And some of the connections are made with these tiny worthless metal crimp-on clips. Not sure what's in the walls but I've got one under the kitchen sink I installed for an RO system. I got some thinking to do, and I'll be up all night now thanks lol. I guess it's better than catching the galloping dandruff from the hitch hicking crack who-er. :)

Agreed. But the Sharkbite brand is inferior. low budget low quality. There are better products on the market but they focus in dyi market.

These appear to be copper with a plastic piece clamped around the pipe.

I have viega and pex crimpers but prefer uponor or wursbo since its a memory pipe and is expanded onto barbed fittings. Rather use wursbo before sweating copper.

If that's what I think it is, you got the good stuff (pro).... What you describe is not SharkBite.

It's a pre-fab home anyway so I would not be surprised regardless. I appreciate the heads up fellas.
