I've got a question. I've got a pair of Axial crawlers but I do some traveling by plane once a month staying in hotels and what not for a few days. These crawlers are too big to carry with me and there's ususally no where to run one, but there's usually a paved or concrete parking lot.

Question: what's a good scale on road chassis that a total package(chassis, body, charger, radio) would fit into a shoebox or smaller?

Reason for a shoebox is so I can pack it on the side of my suitcase and just check it with everything else under the plane. Not really having an idea of what's out there I hit fleaBay and did some quick googleing, but I'm at work currently. Tamiya has a few small ones and there's some small HPI RTRs I like. But it doesn't have to be a RTR. I could move one of the Axial TX/RX over to it and have an excuse to get a 3 channel with a winch for one of my crawlers.

I actually got an email from Jegs 1.5 years ago with the Teton on sale and that's what got me back into RCs after a 20 year leave. I looked around at what else was available and decided the Axial line best for me.

I was looking at this LaTrax, though: https://latrax.com/products/75054-1rally and I was trying to find a scale body beside the rally hatch it had that lead me to the Tamiyas and HPIs. I was wanting an on-roader that I can run around my house also.

 

Haahaa. When I take mine on trips like that I usually ship it to the address I am going to be at!!

 

I'm only there for a night or two then gone again. And it's not always the hotel I'm told before I fly out.

Anyone dealt with Losi's Micro line up? I'm leaning towards this one: http://www.losi.com/Products/Features.aspx?ProdId=LOSB0233T3

 

I have 2 of them, they are tiny, haha. I swapped a brushless system into one made it uncontrollable, stock they are fairly reliable but you will want it faster.

 

Can they be volted any? IIRC it's a 4.8v battery.

Any pics next to something not making it look scale?

 

Well one I never tried on anything other then stock battery, not sure it can handle much more. Other one I have a 2s lipo that I use in my trail trekker.

Tech question:

with a spectrum DX3C, you can store 20 different receivers (vehicles). just scroll through the menu to the vehicle you want, hit select, and drive away. is the opposite possible? meaning, can a single RX bind to multiple TXs simultaneously? I ask, because it would be very convenient to buy another DX3C, bind it with all of my 3 channel or less RCs, and have two remotes to choose from. pretty much, I want to be able to pick up my remote and select/drive any of the cars, but I would also like my Fiance to have her remote, and be able to do the same. possible????

 

I cannot say for sure but I don't believe that will work, pretty sure once a r/x binds to a t/x all it knows is that t/x until it rebinds to a different remote thus forgetting the first one.
