We had a couple Shelties. GREAT dogs... but if there were kids around... Herding was the name of the game!!! Not reccomended.

Great dog for kids: Golden Retreiver. Smart, loving, quiet, not a million breeding issues... hips, teeth, liver, etc, like with other dogs. Not much in the "Bragging rights of "I got an Exotic whatever", but a great addition to the family.

I agree with a GR. Another GREAT dog around kids (and my top pick) is a Boxer. I've been absolutely amazed how my 6+ yo boxer has been around my kids. She was our first dog and had her since 8 weeks. She has been nothing but patient, loving and protective.

I will say they're VERY energetic. That's probably an understatement though :D

What are the exhaust rules down there? If ive got it dumped right after the bend over the rear axle will that pass down there?

And I am not sure what the personal property tax thing is youre talking about either.

Ill most likely keep 2 of 3 as NJ and insurance as VA

Just threw mine in the recycling bin cause I couldn't get rid of it. Damn

Hunter, you're good with the exhaust dumped after the axle. That's what most of us have.

I have some questions about moving to Virginia. I've looked at a lot of places and can't find any good answers. I'm moving from Tennessee to the Hampton Roads in July for a job. I have several licenses and permits issued by the State of Tennessee. I have a carry permit, boater safety course, and hunters safety course. I know that the carry permit will be valid for Va until it runs out. Tennessee won't renew it after it runs out because I won't be a resident. Will Va allow me to have based off the fact that I've had one in Tennessee? Also, do the hunter and boater classes transfer or will I need to get them from Va? Any advice is appreciated.

VA is a shall issue state. Go to the clerks office in your city or county, apply, pay the fee, response very quickly.

Not sure about boat and hunter safety

Thanks. It seems Va issues licenses pretty easily. Vehicles don't have to pass emissions except Nothern Va right? But safety inspections everywhere? My truck has no cat (just a signal generating tricking the computer) so im wondering if I need to fix that beforehand.

Matt - If you're interested in doing therapy dog work with this dog, shoot me a PM... Having two therapy dogs in my house, I may be able to answer some of your questions.

    Welcome to the fray!
Jump on in, we're a pretty scattered group... However, there's a ton of help and experience in this group.

Check the Navigation threads in Expedition Portal. Randy and I use Back Country Navigator and Co-Pilot but those are Android apps.

Lastly, spring must be close, we're getting our thread battle rhythm back!

Im sure I have other odds and ends but nothing exciting... When I get a rear bumper Ill have a tire carrier for sale but that won't be for a few months atleast!

Sounds like you've got a deal. I'll have the 99 cents when you get down here!
