Hard, folding or rollup tonneau cover that allows you to still use the bed rails?

I just read through a ton of other threads until my eyes glazed over, and I didn't see to find what I was looking for.

I am in search of a hard, tri-fold or roll up Tonneau cover (something like the BakFlip G2/Fibermax) that allows me to secure stuff in my truck bed (using a pop and lock to lock the tailgate). The catch is that I really want to maintain use of my bed rails.

From what I understand, the Bakflip installs into the rails, but makes the rails unusable for anything else.

I see there are a lot of fabric options out there, but I really need something that is going to provide a bit more security.

    Any options out there?

That definitely looks like an option.

I just watched a short video on that one. Is there any way to secure the cover with it partially folded? For instance, I fold back just the last panel --- is there any way to stop it from flopping around?

Also --- does it fold all the way against the back of the window so that the entire bed is usable?

access rollup cover is best IMO. you can still use the rails, though the factory cleats are a little tricky to get in place. But they always will fit.

Is the Access Rollup cover a hard cover? It looks to be vinyl. I need something that can't easily be cut through or otherwise broken into. Not looking for Fort Knox, but I do need something that will at least cause someone to have to take their time getting into it.

There are snap latches to hold it in place when unfolded completely. When it is unfolded, you have about 3/4 of your bed to use if you are hauling large objects. However, it's very easy to remove the cover for full bed use.

I just installed the Extang Trifecta Signature Series Tonneau cover.
It does attach to the rail system but does leave plenty of the rail open for other uses.... the cover folds up to 1/3 of it's size and secures itself with straps. And it can be removed entirely in 2 mins or less.
The Signature series is canvas faced which to me enriches the look.

I second the Extang solid Trifold. And you don't have to pay full price if you shop around. If I remember right, I got mine from AutoAnything, and their phone operator even gave me a 10% discount from their online price.
It folds to the front and appears like a tool box when folded like that; There are straps to hold it at that position. When using a Pop&Lock, everything is secure.

Looks like the Extang Trifecta Folding Tonneau Cover is either vinyl or canvas - right? Is there aluminum or some other hard material underneath?

Thanks for the advice on the price. As of right now, the Extang Solid Trifold is looking to be the best option. I was really hoping the BakFlip would work because I like the way it folds/lock and the way it folds all the way against the windows, but I can't lose my rails because I use those for tie downs all the time.

You don't have to drill into the tailgate. I have one & just grinded that piece off. I have a pop-n-lock so the tailgate is secured. Overall I'm really pleased with mine. The brackets do go on the rails, but you can still use most of the rails.

I have a soft trifold tonneau and it lets me use the rails and cleats just fine.

I have the bakflip VP and it's the solid fold but with a vinyl top layer making it look like it's a one piece. I had my buddy customize my rails so I could still use my bed cleats. They have fixed positions but it's perfect for my everyday needs!
