cel bank 1 too lean after intake install

    I have a 99 sr5 3.4 with a Chery bomb glasspack and after installing a spectre CAI I got a big cel. I'm guessing dirty maf or possibly vacuum leak after the maf?

    Idk between the indake and basically straight pipe exhaust, maybe a better choice in muffler with a little back pressure wouldn't hurt either

    Nothing I'd love better but I got the intake for $130 where as OEM ran anywhere from $350 up to $800 from the toyota dealer. The cherry bomb what a drunken adventure I now regret. Wouldn't mind a factory intake and super 40 or something similar.

    What happened to the original OEM intake? I assumed you removed it to install what you have now.

    Try the local wrecking yards for a stock intake. Likely not more than $110.

    At this point there are many people with opened up exhausts and aftermarket intakes that are not having this lean issue. Start with cleaning maf as said before. Does that have an oiled filter?

    OEM intake was smoked. The tube was almost brittle to the touch and had more cracks and splits than the playboy mansion. And in San Diego 3.4 it a rare commodity any scrap yard lucky enough to snag one get picked clean real quick. As for the filter yes its oiled so I pull my maf and clean it weekly, dirty every time.

    I just wonder if its too much flow in and nearly no back pressure. Can't be a good thing imo
