Mine carries a pt111 9mm. I'm the same way of thinking. Needs to be 9mm or larger..

S&W 500? Easily concealed and not much recoil. Ammo is a bit expensive though

Little guns, even in 9mm recoil like a bitch. I rather be able to get multiple hits fast with a 380 than one with a 9mm before having to fight the sites back onto target. Most females don't carry on their body either so size becomes less of an issue

Yea but that's talking pocket handguns. I'd never buy my wife something that small

I know the little Ruger LC9 is a handful. I had to grip the fuck out of it to get reasonable splits. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say I have more grip strength and better technique than anyone's wife. Just something to think about. If they are purse carrying there is no reason to go smaller than something Glock 19 sized which is much more manageable

Yep I agree. I carry a xd45 so I'm used to a larger frame and trying to conceal it

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
one of the reasons i told my wife that if she gets hers, she needs to carry on her person. how many times do women leave their mini-suitcases unattended while shopping, etc? easy access for someone to steal wallets or guns. also how many times kids root through purses for money/candy/etc w/o permission.

Let me know if you actually get her to carry on her body consistently. She'll be one of the few. Be prepared to buy A LOT of holsters until you find something that works for her. It isn't nearly as easy for women to carry on the body despite all the valid arguments for it. Believe me, I've tried to find something that works for women multiple times.

Yeah its just a never ending money pit. Figure $10k your first year to get gear and just shoot local matches and at least 10k a year in gear/travel/ammo/match fees after that if you wanna go to major matches and compete in the 3gun nation amateur series. You can EASILY surpass those numbers.

If you play to win, expect to double those numbers with the amount of practice amm and range time that's needed

Went in for an oil change today, came out knowing I need a new battery and oil pan gasket along with the reiteration of knowing I have to change the valve cover gasket and get an EVAP test.
