I'm not worried about long term reliability since the ECU won't allow the MAF sensor to damage the engine. I came from the VW/Audi enthusiast scene and those guys consistently remove their MAF sensors with no long term ill effects. Granted a lot of tuning companies have written their software to work without a MAF but even with stock software or a tune that uses the MAF, the ECU has enough built in safety checks and programming that it won't allow the car to do anything that's going to hurt the engine. The only way I'll get worried about the Eco Block on my Tacoma is if I start seeing a check engine light for "running too lean." And I don't expect that to happen since, as many others have stated, these motors run pig rich from the factory.

For those that have installed the Eco Block, did you disconnect the battery to reset the ECU? Or is it necessary?

Well said, but you have to remember that most people are unaware of how the ECU controls the engine in their car so they are a little more scared.

It's not necessary. But doing so will clear the long term trims if any have built up for whatever reason.

Is it better to clear these long term trims? Or do we get the same outcome if we don't?

Hmmm. Wonder if this would help me lean things out with the TRD SC. I have a AFR gauge in the headers and it consistently reads 9.8-10.2 during WOT.

Has anyone monitored with an AFR gauge to see how much the AFR changes during WOT?

Each case would be different so that one is hard to answer correctly.

That said, the computer is smart enough learn the new set of trims on its own but it will just take a little longer.

    Wow!!!

Yes, your SC truck will love our EB if that is the AFR it is producing.

Ok so here are my results so far.. UG readings on half tank of fuel. Ill update when i finish this tank. and after a few tanks...

    Starting out: 18.3MPG Average
    Current: 20.1MPG Average

cant really feel any power difference excypt i do feel a little bit of "pep" around 4000RPM but i dont hit that often in my average driving. i usually stay about 2000RPM and 65-70 on my commute to work and back and taking the wife to doctors office. I have kept my same driving style for this test.

The above average is 2 days driving highway and city combined. If it stays like this it was well worth the money for me.

I've had it on a couple weeks. 2 tanks of gas. Haven't noticed anything different yet , better or worse.

Yep, like another said on the site, there is nothing free. If you make a small bump in fuel economy here, we are well aware that we are making a small dent in reliability. Though, as discussed, if the dent is in a ''too wide of a safety margin'', there is no need to worry for a normal user.

As the question about the long term trim delete or not:

Per the scangauge, the long term trim is not so ''long term''. More like a few minutes.

Ok so I ordered a Q1 and needed a Q3. Crawford offered to let me exchange it and pay the difference. The Q3 is like $10 more. Not really sure I want to spend that much on this type of item. So maybe someone on here could just buy the Q1 off of me. I opened the package but everything is still there. Could really use some help here
