Yeah, in my case, i think it would fix it. The rest is in good shape. However since its already out of the truck, and they can be had for 12$ on Amazon with the contacts. I figure why not.

Perfect time to do other things like replace the steering bushings while i wait.

Yeah that sucks man. For my older cars, I usually pickup a second starter, alternator, etc parts off ebay since they're usually super cheap for the used stuff and some people even ship it for free.

nothing like an OE starter with 30k on it for 25 bucks! There are starter rebuilders that sell parts online too.

I remember my first starter rebuild on my '93 Taurus Wagon. I bought a new comm and brushes for 21 bucks shipped. Dealership wanted 400 bucks for a new starter, Kragen wanted 280 if I exchanged the core.

Someone posted about the ammo ban a few days ago and apparently our letters helped and the ATF does listen, they ousted a tweet saying “You spoke, we listened.” about 80,000 comments against and the “ATF will not at this time seek to issue a final framework.”

Thanks man! Oh and my steering issues were fixed with the Kings and new UCA's, so not sure exactly which one was causing the wobble.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
Anyone In the east bay looking for work or want to pick up extra money? I just picked up a large volume sheet metal job and we need a hand knocking it out quick! Ill need a guy to run the brake forming small parts about 4000 of them to be exact as well as a guy spot welding the sheet metal together. You would be operating a miller LMSW-52T spot welder not much fun when it comes to welding but a simple Job of spotting sheet metal together.

If your intersted let me know via pm. This could turn into a full time gig if the demand calls for it. Its an entry level job so were not looking for master fabcators.

They have changed a lot just in the last few years since I first looked at it. Added a whole new building at the entrance with a huge pool (probably is saltwater but may have a freshwater too) and they don't do the cruises anymore during the summer, instead they send you to a port city for 2-3 weeks.

What the what? Then what the hell do the need the Golden Bear for? I remember being in the shipyard when the Navy/CIA de-classified the the sonar bubbles on the hull. I think they cut off 11 or more bubbles. Vibration free engine room is a helluva engineering feat. I don't recall them ever declassifying the prop, even after they removed it. Cool ship with an awesome background.

What are your guys thoughts on snorkels? Pointless? I picked one up really cheap (non-ARB) and thinking of putting it on, but I don't know if I really want it on there forever.

I love the look of them plus you don't have to worry about sucking up water when blasting through water crossings or deep puddles.
Is it one of the cheap ones made for a hilux? I have been a little temped to buy one and see if it will work.
