Sorry but really had to comment on this, not really sure what the idea behind the comment is but are you saying prerunners cant make it through Cleghorn? Because I remember going there easily 8 times without changing suspension just adding a crap spacer level thing, and about a few more times after taking that spacer off and having a spindle. Not really sure what you ment but felt the urge to comment on this.

Synthetic is "said" to "last" 10-15k I've ran synthetic since the first day and change it every time the light goes on.

Cleghorn is not bad at all, even in the trails on the side or the socalled "harder trail" which runs parallel, reason why I haven't gone through it is because I'm simply not into the rockier parts where you need to go slow. I really wouldn't doubt any Tacoma their. There are areas where its tough but none to say you come out broken, maybe flipped if you don't angle right but that's anywhere.
Ever since I found out about Stoddard Wells I haven't really been into the Cleghorn "Trails"

I dont want to make it into an argument but serious prerunners make it much further than any 4wd :D
But you are right there is times a prerunner wont make it, but there is times that cv-axle causes you to break.

how do built 2wd's go over rocks? both are limited to their modifications, but a modified 4wd will always be better than a 2wd.

actually he has all 2wd trucks lol no one is butt hurt...we've all been around enough trucks or vehicles where we all know 4x4 = more traction that's all
But they're right...cleghorn isn't all up to par for a prerunner. Take it from me for almost getting stuck on some bypass 2 for not knowing where I was going

And all he was saying was that it's getting pretty annoying reading everyone always make something into a 4x4 vs 2wd debate on every site...pretty stupid seeing it

Cuz he's trying to be a better person

Im going to chime in on the 2 wheel 4 wheel debate.

First of all to each their own. I do have a 4x4 and have had 2x as well. With the Tacoma I am jealose of the height the 2x guys can get!! I personally feel a 4x4 will get you further when you need the traction. I have been out twice with some 2 wheel drives that either got stuck or almost stuck. Once on a fire road, Tom and his bad ass 2x truck with a locker all most got stuck on a steep gravel section. My 4x4 didn't even hick up. There was another guy with us, Same thing.

Then I was out in Cleghorn with a guy Dan, with our trucks side by side his looked much more capable, 6 inch lift big tires. In Fact one tome out he took a very tough bypass and had the clearance i couldn't have if i took that same path. Anyway on another trip he led us down one of those side bypass trails and we came to a dead end and we needed to turn around, well he got stuck trying to turn Around.

There is nothing wrong with 2 wheel but in snow mud and where traction is needed a 4x4 will go further.

    Just my .02

The Tacoma 4x4 weakness is not being able to get enough lift with out damaging CV boots.

    Thats just my opinion.
