I understand everyone's concerns and I will not be selling a set until I fully test them on my own truck. If I'm wrong, and destroy my truck then I have my reason to go get a 3rd gen haha. Please, critic the hell out of it. I don't mind everyone's opinion, but lets stay positive about it please. Everything that has been stated by other members was already on my list of concerns that needed to get addressed or proven. I've had members ask for teaser photos, that is what this was.

The gusset comment was intended to state that the gussets should line up with the edges of the square tube. By placing them in the middle of the tube the gusset will bear on the weak axis of the flat tube.

I'm assuming you used a factor of 2.0 for your impact factor, correct?

Looks like you don't have the outer rails on your mockup at this point. Your moment arm is going to increase once that's on there. People lift from the outer rail, not the inboard tube.

    Good luck with your testing.

You are correct on the safety factor, 2.

I don't have the outer hoops on yet and I see what you mean. The moment arm will increase. I am waiting on the hoop portion and will test once in.

FYI he's talking about me, I bent the crap outta a set of bamfs sliders when I came down on it after the last support leg. It bent up by a few inches but luckily it didn't effect opening my rear door.

Great progress thus far, I like the idea of the wrap-around supports! Keep up the good work, sir.

Small update. After running more calcs on the long unsupported section of tubing, and looking at what I had done on the prior prototype, it had two issues, longer than it needed to be, and I should run tubing at an angle out to the unsupported spot. In it's new design, it'll handle WAY more than you'll ever be able to throw at it. So I cut some new tubing, took my time and clamped it all down and made sure I welded it properly this time and made sure welds penetrated fully since I got so much flack for my welds on the last one...

Updated my flange with minor changes to increase its strength as well and will plasma cut on the table this week and form it up, then weld the tubing weldment to the flange and bolt up for final fit test. Then a trip to the trails are in the works to do my best to show that they're not going to break, no matter what...

I'm on the north side of Baltimore and would be interested in a solid set of bolt ons for a dcsb. If you ever need a second look for measurements let me know.

Teaser update... Sliders with kick out and fill plates for a DCLB. Customer wanted round tube to be parallel with ground instead of 15 degree upwards angle. Fill plates were dimple died, pushed upward to to act as grip for a step. Will add more photos in the next day or two once I weld to the flange and finish welding everything up. Round tube is DOM too. Oh, and of course our logo in the back corner of the fill plate!

Looks like that cutout logo can do some major damage if your foot is ever caught in there :)
