It's not "in case one goes out" - it's to move more air for tires and tools.

Well, Today I dropped off the brand new truck at the dealership for them to "inspect and advise" on the leaking passenger exhaust manifold...

I sure hope this isn't a start of troublesome issues. My navigation has crashed on me twice as well. He said it would take them 4 hours to inspect a leaking exhaust manifold, check for updates to the nav unit and perform the first oil change. I used to work for a dealership, own a repair shop and have a pretty good idea of whats going on. I sure hate to have someone else touching my baby.

I never take any air tools so I highly doubt I ever will.. Just want it to fill up my tires and run air lockers in the future.

Who needs air tools on the trail when a cordless has as much torque and can be charged in the outlet supplied by the bed? Even in my shop I rarely use pneumatic tools for regular maintenance and repair.

I don't have an outlet in the bed. I can see if you were going on a long trail that i'd take some air tools just in case

Ah, understood. Adding the outlet can't be too much of a hassle. I had an old Willyz many moons ago that I put in the AC compressor from an old Buick and used that as an onboard air compressor. It worked well but was far more cumbersome than an inverter setup for charging cordless. Plus, cordless has come soo far in the past few years...

Im thinking about adding a cigarette outlet in the bed but thats it. Ill mount the compressor in one of my cubby holes and run the lines out. Thinking about getting this one now. Just need it to run a rear locker and fill my tires up.

If you can wait for the details to be hashed out, you could get that compressor about $50 cheaper in a group buy going on. I've been a little frustrated with the lack of concrete info and have found one from a member I will prob buy instead of waiting for the gb.

I'm going on a trip next weekend and would like to use it so $50 isn't to much for me. Plus I have a blown shock so I need to get some kings to match in the rear before then, probably go through DSM

    Bummer.

Head unit issues aren't uncommon, with random power down and screen flickering. Not sure what they're doing to correct it, might be a TSB out. I've not had the problem myself.

yup, known issue at Toyota. the fix is to have the dealer do an update. anyone who has the issue, just take it in and tell your dealer yours is freezing and ask for the update

on the flip side, I had the same issue, but when the dealer did the update it totally crashed my JBL head unit.
    :(

so now I have a nice shiny new one!

    Lots...see build
By the way, if you ever want to add in your own stuff into the little holes where the locker solenoids go on the compressor, you need a male 1/8 British standard pipe thread fitting to go in there.

I made my own tire inflation system for my arb ckma12 and used a male 1/8" BSPT to female 1/8" NPT adapter, then a male 1/8" NPT to female 1/4" NPT, and then to the hose that has a male 1/4" NPT fitting on the end.
