Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
So I was worried about the out in the openness but I have discovered that you can only just open the fridge with the bed rack (not enough to get a hand in) and with my swingout being locked I have effectively locked it into a big cage. They sell a nice cover for it to keep the elements off. I have one it's pretty slick.

Well I'm single and in no hurry for a wife or kids but I got the DC because I use the extra cab space more than the extra foot of bed space. 4 doors, more whores!

I've actually been regretting not going DCLB... sometimes....not all the time but sometimes.

I was nervous I would. But I find the foot shorter truck SOOO much nicer for getting around and even just during hunting season getting around in strip jobs was so easy when it used to be fairly troublesome

Also I retract my previous statement about not being able to get a hand in...I swapped yo shorter bolts on the RTT and can now not only get a hand in but that hand can have beer in it... which is a plus.

My last truck was a 2007 DCLB Tundra... one of the reasons I got the SB was trying to have something easier to drive everyday and better on the trail...the tundra was so damn long and wide it made trails a total PITA! But sometimes that extra foot of bed would be nice.

Dude the DCLB trucks are SOOOOOOOO long. I parked next to one the other day and was astounded at the difference. At that point you may as well have a full sized truck IMO.

What some of us would do for an extra 1" let alone 12" .....:roll eyes:

I think its the fact that not only is it 12" longer but the additional 12" is tacked right on to the wheel base.

Nice build!! I need to get some of your suspension setup. Also, I have not gone through your build yet, but I am wanting to build a nato can carrier myself. Are you pretty new to welding? I have a 125hd Lincoln welder and getting better and wanting to try something a little more challenging. How was it??

I started with a set of shock relocation towers...and then realized I have no fucking clue what I'm doing and then started the swingout which reinforced that and then did the jerry can mounts.... which I did alone which was nice because I could try different things and see what settings did what.

    Pure. Fucking. Genius.

If you own a 12+ you know there is very little room to mount stuff under the hood like your winch solenoid for example... but I found this little spot of unused space. Problem is there is nowhere to really hard mount a plate... but by a stroke of genuine badassery I decided this is gonna work like a champ!

More pics once I get the XRC10 in and the solenoid into it's new home under the hood.

I love this RTT hoist... so many uses. Who else can install/remove a front bumper solo?
