Just like that frozen puddle with the roll over spine, we weren't even planning on going through it. The explorer def gave it the old college try!

The Maxxs would have loved that climb

Nice! We will have to do some exploring once the northeast thaws out :spy: :spy:

hahaha yeah that explorer went all out, but at least ended up conquering it is the most important thing! I would have loved to see those tires in the muck we tried. The hills were similar grade and terrain to the ones in Jackson we all had trouble with so I'm sure the Maxxs would have kicked some ass.:)

I'm sure its been covered in here somewhere, but I was looking at your wheels and they are offered in two backspacings. 4.5 and 3.6. Do you know which yours are?

I think I remember seeing that you replaced the bolts for your IFS skid. Do you remember the thread size and pitch of them? I don't have the stock bolts and can't find the size anywhere.

The front ones I kept the same I don't remember the rear ones. I drilled out the stock nuts welded in the crossmember and used a 3/8" grade 8 bolt. The stock rear bolts are a joke they won't take a very hard hit.

And you put a new nut through the crossmember to bolt to? Good idea may do that

I'm pretty sure its the 3.6 based on your pictures. I'm convinced enough that that is what I'm ordering...1 at a time as I cone up with the money

Yeah a grade 8 and standard thread with a nylock, the stock one is a metric small ass bolt.

Yah that could be, I know the wheel is pretty far away from the UCA so I would say it is likely the one with less backspacing.

Do you have any pictures of your cab mount area? I'm curious how much trimming and beating you've have to do

Sorry I've been busy the last few days. I went out and grabbed a shot while it was still light out. Here you are

I was going to cut the "ear" off the cab mount but it doesn't hit there so I'll just leave it be for now. That was my original cab chop from the 33" tires so it was worked out well. The only mods I had to do to fit the 36s were to beat the firewall back a little further and cut the fenders.

I went to pick up this baby today for the 4runner, 23 spline t-case from a turbo pickup

Waiting for the guy to rip out the transmission so hopefully tomorrow I will be picking up the R151 transmisssion :D
