Haha, hopefully soon. I have 3 people coming to check my truck out this weekend. Only hiccup is we are waiting to close on a refi for the house so I have to wait that to finish before going down to my credit union for a loan.

Personal preference. It didn't sound bad, just not my cup of tea. There's a reason I never messed with the exhaust on my Tacoma. I do think the TRD sounds nice because it's very subtle. There's just no comparison to a deep, throaty V8. My truck before the Tacoma was a Silverado with a Gibson Supertruck exhaust, duals that came out in front of the rear tire. That truck sounded mean! I don't want something that loud now, but want to wake mine up a little bit.

Ford must have an exhaust no? Usually the oem ones are pretty nice sounding with no drone. Pricy though

So many V6 exhausts now make the car sound like a bad GM 3800 from the 90's when they start getting old and loud.

The best Honda exhausts out there are whisper quiet at idle and then only get loud at WOT. Usually the bigger the muffler, the quieter the car. My World Sport was quiet at idle and was usually drown out by intake noise at WOT. My friend had an Integra GSR with Comptech exhaust and it was the same deal, no rasp, no high pitched noise, just low tone.

My STi doesn't have the typical boxer rumble, but I've got the factory option SPT (Bosal) exhaust so it's got a huge muffler. It's plenty loud, but doesn't ever drone, which is key. I added a Cobb 3" street downpipe which didn't make it that much louder, but it allowed for more turbo spool noise, which is always fun.

In the import world typically the higher displacement cars sounded lower/deeper and less drone. Most of the high end tuner exhaust (A'pex-i, GReddy, RS*R) didn't have any drone / obnoxiousness unless you went to something like a HKS Megaphone / Superdagger. It's the people welding up $9.99 eBay melon shooters that give those cars a bad rap.

I haven't looked into it actually but I suppose SVT might have made one. Rouch seemed to make sense since they do a lot of Ford projects. It's hard to say which one is best though because the forums are cluttered with untested, bias information. Seems Blowmaster fake duals is the preferred exhaust in the Ford F150 community...

I've considered going with an intake instead of an exhaust also. They can offer a nice sound but can drone in the cab if you choose the wrong one.

    6" stacks, brah!

    /brodozer community.

Drone is really the key point I think. I was next to an Avalanche on 24 last night and the drone was terrible. I actually slowed down to try and quiet the sound a bit.

Wholly hell, Borla had better come with a million mile warranty! The damn thing for my truck is almost $1,300 from Borla's factory

That's probably not outlandish for Borla, they were always on the high end for exhausts. I've never heard a bad comment about them, from fit to quality. Whether or not they give the most gains, I don't know. Just make sure they match the flange type. I know people in the Subaru community go nuts because some exhausts use donut, some flat face, which is kinda ridiculous. The OEM is donut, but a lot of DPs are flat, so some catbacks assume you'll do a flat face DP and do flat face catback flanges.

Shrug. Might be true, but since most of the ricer boys go everywhere at full throttle it's still annoying.

I actually had one pull up beside me the other night, some high school kid in a early 2000's civic with more bondo than paint. Pulled up right beside me and stared through his window. Kept revving his engine at me the entire time the light was red. So I timed the light and when it turned green I matted the throttle, got a half second jump on him, and blew his doors off. Immature, but damn satisfying. :D Especially because at the next light he didn't pull up as far and didn't make eye contact.

Are Borla known to be loud? I want a subtle rumble, sort of like what you get when following a stock Mustang GT. Not obnoxious, but throaty.

I like how I started this 2 page exhaust chat!

Still leaning on the TRD. I hope it does more than a little, but not looking for bro rasp either. I think V6s sound like crap with bromaster or anything that's louder.

Mike, my buddy just put an intake and an 4" MBRP on his ecoboost FX4 and it sounds good. Lots of turbo spool sounds now!

He had a gibson single side on his old 5.4 and it sounded really good. No drone, stock look, but added that good v8 rumble. I personally hate any duel exhaust, they just are never level and that always pissed me off IMO.

Nope, they are not the loudest out there. Generally they give a deep, louder than oem rumble on 8cyls without ant drone at cruising. They are usually regarded as the exhaust to go with if you want something that is loud when you want it to be and quiet when cruising. They are expensive for sure. But they are generally the best option for someone looking for something between oem and bro style loud ass flowmasters or similar

Oh, of course. 10-15 years ago a different crowd were driving the cars than today.

The quickest Civic out there was a 99-00 Si with the B16 stock and it probably couldn't break a 16 second quarter from the factory, maybe high 15s if it tried. I guarantee if it was early 2000s it had a D16y8 or if it was the EP era, a D17, neither of which made any real power, even in VTEC trim.

The Ecoboosts do sound interesting with an exhaust. I like that turbo sound you get with them. I have the 5.0L though, I want that deep sound.
Good to know. That's exactly what I'm looking for. Something that won't piss off the wife and keep the kids awake on long trips but can make the dipshit who tried to sideswipe me white-knuckle the steering wheel when I step on it to get out of the way.

Lol, especially after being poorly 'tuned' with a giant exhaust that robs all the back pressure, which (from the way it sounded) this car probably had.

Not bad, I wouldn't go dual out of the rear though, I'd get the dual side exit one they offer. Did you listen to the Rouch clip?
