      That is clear coat failure man. I hate to say it but that area needs to be sanded, buffed and sprayed with clear coat again. Chances are the paint can be saved so if you know a good body shop they should able to fix it without having to respray the entire hood. Time does play into that factor though. Longer you wait the more it will spread.

      @TexS4 I take it the hood scoop can't be removed? How big of a job do you think it would be? Thanks for the advice much appreciated :D

      Somebody else can chime in on the scoop removal, I am not sure on that part?

      Check a few reviews on body shops near you and then go see them in person. You might be surprised the cost is lower than you might think to get it repaired. As for the rest of the truck, start protecting it now! Clay bar the paint and put on some wax or sealant. All can be found at your local favorite parts store
