      Which 2M radio unit did you go with that has the separated HU?? Thx!

      @GeoYota65 I am still running the Yaesu FT-7800R, which I pulled out of the Xterra and moved to the Taco. It's a dual-band (2M and 70cm) radio, and has since been replaced in Yaesu's lineup by the newer FT-7900R. You have to purchase an optional "separation kit" (approx. $50ish) to mount the faceplate remotely, which includes the cables and bracket. If I remember correctly, they were doing some kind of promotion and the separation kit was free when I made my purchase, but that was many years ago.
