How much lifted will the stock drive shaft take before it starts vibrating?

Can you describe the vibrations? Is it 4X4 only or will my Pre-Runner do the same thing?

Any lifted truck can vibrate. It usually does it during take off or braking. It kinda feels like warped rotors. Nothing real bad, but still annoying. A 2WD will do it too. It's because of the soft rubber in the stock driveshaft's carrier bearing. It doesn't like the angle change of the driveshaft when you lift the suspension.

what is the advantage of a one piece shaft?
    • pb2themax
When you do a suspension lift many times you will get some driveline vibration because of the changing angles in the drive shaft joints. A 1-piece driveshaft often eliminates or improves the smoothness of your driveline because it eliminates the bend where the carrier bearing is in the middle of the stock driveshaft. Plus the 1-piece is lighter because it has less moving parts, and it's stronger than the stock one.

How much, and what did you do, just email them with your truck info, year, body style, 4x4, etc? Really would like to get a one piece drive shaft. would be nice to get rid of that slight vibration from 25-15 on deceleration.
