So what is the 100/400 watt switch for? I mean, I know it controls the 110 VAC plug in the back, but why the switch? Why would you ever put it on 100?

you dont switch it between the two. Its simply an on off switch for the AC plug.... if you are in park with the motor running it will output 400w, if you are moving it will be 100w. And i think if you have the key on just acc without the motor running it will be at 100w.

^^^what he said, but theres a mod you can do that keeps a constant 400w (which ive done and installed a plug inside the cab)
with adding and inside plug its been great for charging stuff etc.
the inverter is under the center console, the fans to the back of the center console which you can see the little vent when in the back of the rear seats

as far as i have seen, it operates like any other inverter, 100watt constant 400watt max, running or not. but i do hav an odd-ball tacoma. just whatever you do, do not run anything with an electric motor, like power tools or a fridge, etc, will kill it! it is a modified sine inverter! it is NOT real AC current! for use charging stuff or running laptop etc its fine because the power brick (the big block on the charger) filters most of the noise in the sine wave. if you plan on needing to run heavy power 110 tools or appliances lemme know i can help you choosing the right inverter and power setup. i have literally lived in my tacoma and other vehicles for up to 2-3 weeks responding to national disasters, plus degee in engineering and computer science so i know the circuitry :)

    cheers,
    disco

Okay, thanks. I thought it was a three way switch - 100W one way, 400 the other and center off.
