157k First MTF Change?

Hello,

Have a 157k X-Runner(1GRFE/Manual Transmission) It is unknown if the tranny fluid has ever been changed. Would I cause indirect damage by changing it?

 

I change all my fluids when I get a new to me vehicle

May as well change all the gear fluids.

As A practice always remove the fill plug first !!

It is a Royal pain to drain things only to find the fill plug is rounded off or won`t break free

 

If you have an automatic transmission changing trans. fluid that has never been changed with a lot of miles could cause a problem, but that not the case with a manual trans., so I would change it if you aren't sure.
