Hi All, anyone had any experience with a rust issue, rack and pinion , power steering lines, brake lines , frame , realizing this is a 2009 and it still runs great.

    Hmm . . . none as yet, that's why i'm here . . .
Is this April fools. You're a 'well known member' and you ask this question.
Anyone with a Taco will say yes to everything you mentioned. Did you think you're the only one. Have you not read the forum posts.

I have a 2009 with zero rust. Of course I have never driven on a salted road.

The forum is filled with rust threads.

So the answer to your very broad question is 'yes'.

Do you have more specific questions to ask?

All depends on where you live , looks your in the greater Northeast where they put salt down every chance they get to coat the roads .
I just picked up a 2015 last year of the 2nd gens , one owner and they did not do much as far as preventive corrosion protection .
I got to the rust in time , I cleaned and coated the chassis with Por-15 and cosmoline should last a longtime , I’m also in the Northeast PA/NJ/NY is my travel area and salt the crap out of the roads .
Luckily this season was not too bad as for salt application .
I was out looking at used Tacomas for a buddy and there was some really bad rusted trucks for sale out there , you really have to check them out .
I am one that would travel down south for a cleaner rust free truck then coat the crap out of the chassis then you know you got a good truck there .

Nope, never heard of rust on a Tacoma. I powerwash mine with a pound of salt mixed with water and frame is like it's off the assembly line. Although, I am in TX.
