Hi all new to the forum and I'm seeking some help with my 2010 Tacoma I am getting very discouraged and frustrated with it. Some back story first: This is the third Toyota I've owned and I bought it because I've had great luck with .Y two Corollas I have a 97 Corolla with just under 200k on it and a 2010 Corolla with 85k on it and they've never let me down so naturally I thought a Tacoma was a good investment. Now I've only had the truck about three weeks and at first everything was great I loved the truck. Well I went trout fishing on the second one day of the season and used my 4 wheel drive down a dirt road with some snow on it. Nothing extreme by any means. So after using the 4x4 I noticed an intermittent vibration. I kept driving for about a week thinking it just might me some mud or snow and it seemed to go away. Fast forward to this past Sunday. Intermittent vibration returns then on my way home turns to a constant vibration. My first diagnosis is a the center support bearing. Now we're on to yesterday I drove the truck just to the other side of the small town I live in to pick my son up from lacrosse. As I'm turning left in the parking lot I hear and feel a loud bang or pop in the front end it does this twice but only when turning. Now I'm thinking driver's side CV shaft and I got under it and shook it and seems to have a lot more play than the passenger side. Just wanted some input on what i should pursue this is very frustrating as I haven't even had the truck for a month. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks sounds like a fun job! I just don't understand why it only does it when I turn.

May be bad ball joints or if your getting a poping noise at full lock on turns you can put some grease on the steering stops.

I would vote for ball joints too.

This seemed like too violent of a bang to be ball joints and that wouldn't explain the vibration either.

Was it in 4wd when you heard the bang?

Could be a cv joint, but really hard to say not seeing it in person.
