2011 FJ no start

Ok Tacoma team, I need an assist with my sons FJ. It's a no start but the symptoms are really odd. When he opens the door to get in and fire it up, you can hear the turn signal flasher clicking constantly. (blinker not on, hazards not on). In addition, after he dug around a while, the trailer lights relay was also cycling constantly. The starter does not turn over at all but dash lights do illuminate. Battery voltage is good. I've recommended he pull it and have it load tested but I'm out of town and he's at work. We'll get to the load test eventually I assume.

Has anybody seen anything similar? I would just normally assume low battery but he had a previous owner kill switch when he bought the truck and that thing caused a similar issue last year. Once the kill switch was deleted, it went back to normal but now the symptoms have returned.

It sounds like a battery or corrosion in the terminals.

 

That's my suspicion as well. Not being there in person, it's a pain in the butt to walk him through it.
