2013 Tacoma Engine Noise

Hello,

Please find link below which captures, as best possible, sound of my truck during shut off. After reading forum threads and Googling, I'm 90% sure it's the residual sound of the 'smog pump' but I'd like some other opinions/verification. There is a clicking sound followed by a whine similar to a turbo sound. Also, not 100% sure smog pumps are included in 4.0l V6 Taco for Canadian market.

I've always wondered what this was too.

 

Sounds exactly like my smog pump.

Most likely the air pump. YOu can be under the hood when someone shuts it off to check. It sits on the passenger inner fender well. However it doesn't sound to healthy. You can check the thread below for lots of good info.

Mine does that, everyone always asks what that noise was and I just say it's normal.. I hope..
