2014 radio need help

2014 TRD sport with BT /Rear cam weather radio has lost function. Camera works when I put in reverse and toyota symbol come up with power on. No other functions work- no audio power. no phone link or blue tooth etc. Checked the two radio fuses under the hood and both good. Just now disconnected the battery hoping that it may be a computer glitch that will self correct.

ANY help or recommendations greatly appreciated. Headed to Toyota service appointment tomorrow if I can't figure it out beforehand. Thanks for any help

 

Let Dealer work on it. Mine shutdown on its own then resets. Im waiting for it to die permanently then taking to dealer. there has been issues with the entunes.

 

Have you checked any ACC (accessory) fuses? Does the radio power on? Turn the key to ON so the radio powers up. Press and hold the radio power button in for 10 seconds. The press the button again and see if it functions normally.

 

We saw a similar issue at Lexus where radios and nav units were locking up and rebooting. We were told by Lexus to disconnect the battery for 5 or more minutes to reset the unit. There was an update that borked the system. That update has since been removed.

 

Do you have some kind of extended warranty that covers it?

If not, the work won't be free. And they certainly don't 'fix' radios. They may sublet it to be refurbished, or offer to sell you a replacement.

If that's the case, I'm guessing you could buy a nice PnP aftermarket unit for a good bit less.

 

Warranty expired. - reconnected battery. rechecked fuses for continuity all good. no acc fuses noted. The power button initiates a restart but just the toyota logo and cam warning comes up. back up cam works.

 

I'll disconnected again for a couple hours. radio booted up and gave me menu options. I selected FM and nothing else happened. I tried resetting with power button and it went back to only the Toyota emblem & cam warning It happened on my way to trade the truck on a Suburban. Chevy dealer said I could get it fixed and they would honor the trade value. If not they would "call around" for an estimate. Want to keep it "factory" so i'll roll the dice w toyota service. Hoping a possible reflash. if not what will be will be.
I'll disconnect battery & let it set overnight & see what happens in the AM. I'll post outcome when resolved

 

rebooted after power up this morning. Got menu's audio etc and then it quickly went weird again. Dealership tried software upgrade to no avail, says new unit needed. At 39,700 and 41 months nothing under warranty. Factory refurb unit ordered for install. Will be $689.51 all in. Feel better doing this than having the new owner eating a bad surprise, but it still sucks.
