Toyota Parts said lock for its tailgate latch in 2014 was not an option.

Does anyone have suggestions? I’m putting on a tonneau cover and need to secure the tailgate.

    Thanks!

I bought a pop n lock for mine. Only issue is it has faded in the 2 years I have owned it. It’s now a grey instead of black. Oh and it’s a little more flimsy than the stock handle.

Thank you … I’ll let the tonneau cover installer use what they have. Will stand behind it!

Pace edwards makes a kit that ties into your stock lock system. Ive had mine for a year now and no issues. You keep all of your stock parts and you use your key fob to unlock the tailgate

I have the pop n lock PAL5400 that's keyed to my Tacoma key. No issues here after 5 years. I do recommend spraying lubricant on all moving parts including key cylinder during install. Makes it function much smoother and helps with longevity.

I put on the electric Pop N Lock actuator but didn't do the keyed latch. My tailgate locks and unlocks with the driver side door. No problems since installing in 2015
